When mom came at lunchtime that day I couldn't wait to show her.
She sat with her hands clasped together, watching me stumble around the room.
"Mina you're walking!"
I saw her eyes glimmer.
Some of the old nurses would walk by and see, and they would stop and watch for a minute.
"Oh, Mina! You've made so much progress! I'm so proud of you."
I was so happy I could dance around the room.
I could finally see myself getting out of this room.
It felt so close.
I practiced walking around my room, even after mom had to go to work, even until I glanced at the clock, and hurriedly jumped back in into bed.
One of the nurses held back a snort when she saw me do that.
I just sat there, watching the clock tick by, until finally the door clicked.
Hobi walked in, and laughed at my incredibly giddy face.
"What is it?"
I just shook my head, biting my lip.
"Mina?"
He slowly sat down on the bed.
"I'm just happy to see you."
He smiled, albeit still confused.
With the old tubes and wires gone, I quickly leaned forward and wrapped my arms around him.
There was nothing to stop me this time.
He laughed and returned the hug, slightly swaying.
"I can't wait to see you again."
"But I'm still here?"
"I know."
I made it Hobi.
I'll be able to go to your art show.
I can stand next to you now.
