"Chrissie. Chrissie. Chris!" Grover shook Chrissie's arm and sighed. She murmured something about '5 more minutes' and 'no more school'. Grover rolled his eyes.
Suddenly, he looked up and spotted the raindrop-spattered branch above her. Grover mischievously grinned and pulled the branch down, releasing so that the small droplets of water dripped onto Chrissie. The effect was immediate! Chrissie shrieked and scrambled to her feet.
"Who? What? Where?" She gasped, a wet leaf pressed to her left cheek. She looked so startled and caught off guard, that Grover started to laugh. He laughed until he couldn't breathe, and by that point Chrissie was laughing with him.
After the two were out of breath on the leafy ground of the forest, Chrissie finally spoke. "Very funny 'goat boy', now where are we going next?" Grover tossed her a canteen of water and pointed to a hill about a mile away. "Just over that hill is the lake by camp. Annabeth and Piper are coming out to meet us."
Chrissie took a long swig of water from the flask and poured some into her hands, splashing her face with it. "Well then, we'd better get moving!"
About half an hour later, they reached the top of the hill. Pausing at the top, they took in the beautiful sight of the sun shimmering on the lake, the sand compromising with the color. Chrissie squinted and saw two silhouettes sprinting down the sand towards them.
"Piper and Annabeth," Grover confirmed her thoughts. "Two of the strongest demigods at camp." Soon Grover and Chrissie were barreling down the hill towards the two figures. "Slow down!" Grover gasped at Chrissie, but she was too excited, and skidded to a stop at the bottom of the hill, almost falling over at Piper's feet.
"Chrissie Lucass?" Piper questioned. Chrissie nodded, too excited to form words. "Well, we'd better start heading back to camp," stated Annabeth. "Welcome to your new life as a demigod, Chrissie."
