"Behold, Chrissie, daughter of Athena."
After that huge announcement, Chrissie couldn't stand all the people, so she slipped away, wanting to enjoy the stillness of the lake and the stars. She found a nice tree to sit in, and scaled it, sitting in a crook between two branches.
Staring up at the stars, that sure was nice. Unfortunately, some of the lights from nearby towns were obscuring some from Chrissie's view. She sighed sadly. But then, she heard a startling 'crack' like a gunshot. She looked down, as the branch beneath her started to break, she pleaded to the gods that someone would help.
Nico Di Angelo was walking out to the lake, about to shadow travel away to the underworld, when he heard a sudden 'crack' ring through the still night air. He looked up, at the tree where the sound was coming from. A girl was frantically standing up on a branch, trying to edge herself off of it.
"Jump!" Chrissie heard a voice from below her branch. "Are you crazy?!?" She shouted back. "Just do it!" came the simple reply. Chrissie swallowed hard. The branch was at least 13 feet up in the air. If she fell, her leg would surely be broken. She would have to trust whoever this voice was. She closed her eyes, bended her knees, and jumped.
Chrissie fell, and soon found her hand wrapped around another person's cold arm. They were engulfed into the cold shadows, everything going black and delving into the freezing inky blackness.
Soon she emerged inside an obsidian walled room, with a small bed. The Hades cabin. She collapsed, trembling, onto the skull printed comforter. "Are you okay?" Came the voice. "That must have been quite a shock, not knowing what was coming." "W-who are y-you?" Chrissie questioned, still shaking.
"Nico, Nico Di Angelo." Came the black haired boy's response. He gave a smile, but it looked more like a grimace. "I should be going," Chrissie stated. "Annabeth will be wondering where I am. It was nice meeting you, Nico." He walked to the door and held it open. "See you around."
