It was the morning of Bucky leaving for boot camp he waited for what seemed like ever for Marissa to show up to see him off. James hugged him and said "It's alright son."
"Yeah." he said
They told them it was time to load up so him Steve Sam and Clint all got on the jet. He looked down Steve said "Buck you alright."
"Yeah.. I um guess so." he said as he swallowed back tears.
"Buck what's wrong?' Steve said
"I fucked up this was a mistake and it's to late for me to back out." he said
"Bucky what's wrong?' Sam said
"I made a promise to Marissa that we were going to leave this life behind and got to college together but I forgot about it until Valentine's day night when I realized the real reason she was so mad at me." he said as he wiped tears.
"Buck it's going to be okay we agreed to do this together sophomore year of high school." Clint said
"Yeah only a year after I made the promise to Marissa." Bucky said
Meanwhile Marissa was at her house she chose to go to NYU so she was on the phone with them getting everything set up since she was leaving in a month. After she got off the phone with the college making sure she got a single dorm suite cause she didn't want a room mate. She saw the time on her phone and whispered "Good bye Bucky."
About a week later Winnie came over and said "Um Marissa he sent this to you."
She took the envelope and went upstairs she opened it up.
"Dear Marissa
I will forever be sorry for hurting you. I just want you to know that I hope you do great things with your life and you find happiness and love cause you deserve that. I will miss you best friend I know you are mad and hurt but just know that I will always be here for you no matter how far away I am. I wish I could of seen you before I left for boot camp cause I don't think I will be able to see you before I get stationed since I'm sure you will be off to where ever you choose to go to college. Love you best friend -JBB
She wiped tears and whispered "Love you."
A few weeks later she was packing up her room when her mom came in and said "Honey um not get into your personal business but we are usually on the same cycle and I haven't had to buy you pads or tampons since April."
"Um I .." She said
"Marissa.." Annabelle said
"I'm sure it just stress from finals and choosing a college mom." she said
"Marissa did you sleep with Declan?' Annabelle said
She shook her head no as she put her clothes into a box and said "Mom it's fine I'm fine I'm not even sick."
"Marissa Francesca." Annabelle said
"What?' she said
"Who did you sleep with?' Annabelle said
"Mom it's my personal business just let it go." she said
"Marissa.." Annabelle said
"Fine I slept Bucky the night of prom okay but i'm not sick so I'm not pregnant." she said
She finished putting her stuff in her car and her mom said "Will you please take a test when you get up there."
"Mom I'm fine." she said as she got in her car.
She started up her car and took off for NYU from Arlington VA.
