Anyways, here you go <3
Today, I regained faith in the law.
"How was it?" asked Zaavan's aunt as we walked in through the door.
"We won the case," I said with a smile.
Aunt Lucy's trial was today and while Aunt Holly watched over Carlisle's kids, the rest of us went to testify against her.
"I told you," said Zaavan, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "There was no way we were going to let her get away with what she did."
"Thanks," I whispered, feeling my heart soar with gratitude. At first, Zaavan may seem cold and hateful but he was without a doubt one of the most caring people I have ever met.
"It's over now, you're safe. You can relax now," he whispered back, pulling me so close that I could smell the familiar and comforting scent of his cologne.
I wouldn't be surprised if I too smelled of his cologne. Ever since summer break started, we've been inseparable.
Just then, a thought crossed my mind. "Hey Zaavan? Can I introduce you to everyone as my boyfriend?"
"Your dad and Carlisle don't know that we're dating?" Although Zaavan tried to keep his voice steady, I could tell that he was anxious and trying hard not to panic.
"No they do," I quickly assured him. "It's just that I've never officially told them that we're boyfriends..."
Boyfriends.
The word sent an electric tingle down my spine. The kind of tingle that you get when you're excited and nervous and just so mind blowingly happy.
"Sure. If that's what you want then go ahead," he smiled, relieved.
I grinned as I took Zaavan's hand in mine and we made our way to the kitchen where dad and Carlisle were discussing pizza toppings.
"Uh guys?" I interrupted them.
"Hey bud, is everything alright?" my dad asked in a worried tone. After what happened with aunt Lucy, anytime I wanted to talk my dad and Carlisle practically dropped whatever they were doing to listen to me. Sometimes, it made me feel as if I was a little kid who couldn't handle himself. Although it was kind of annoying, it was really nice to know that they were there for me.
I felt Zaavan tense up beside me, a nervous look on his face. It might not seem like it but he was much more relaxed than before. I now understand why he acts the way he does and overall, I just understand him better.
I gave his hand a light squeeze and took a deep breath. "I just wanted to say that Zaavan's my boyfriend."
This time, I wasn't nervous. I felt free, a warm feeling washing over me. These words felt so right and more than anything, it felt okay to feel the way I felt about Zaavan.
"That's nice," my dad slowly answered. I fought back the urge to laugh at my dad's struggle to find the appropriate words for this situation. I highly doubt he ever thought I'd bring home a boy and introduce him as my boyfriend.
"Sorry if I wasn't what you were expecting," said Zaavan with a hint of amusement in his voice.
"That's not what I meant" he added quickly. "What I meant to say is that I'm very happy for the both of you. You're a very fine young man Zaavan and I'm glad that Vance is with someone as thoughtful and caring as you. I mean it - thank you for everything that you have done for my son."
