"well, you wouldn't believe it when i tell you that Soarin was actually our... 'co captain' " wave started,
I looked at him as if he grew horns on his head,
s-soarin was their co captain???
"n-no way, i dont believe it!" i said
"well, it's true" thunderlane started, "if saw how soarin used to fight before you wont believe it yourself" he stated
"but what changed him?" she asked
"well, we'll just tell you how it all happened" wave said
*flashback* *no one's POV*
it was another day in the cloudsdale team, this team however only consists of pegasi and their captain? 'Sora blue skies' soarin's older brother by a year. there are selected pegasi for the patrol because rumors are spreading that there's a some sort of darkness lurking around.
(this was the time before king sombra's reign)
everything was going fine until one day,
soarin accidentally lost his brother's favorite sword which was given to him by their dad which is now gone along with their mother, and Sora promised to forever protect and use that sword for great good but now...its gone. after that incident it was hard for soarin to earn his brothers's trust again, soarin was just upset as his brother was.
time eventually passed and an unexpected event happened,
a lord of darkness rised and called itself 'king sombra'
they don't know where this lord of darkness came from but it was surely something you've never seen before. but they just believed that he is responsible for all the rumors that is spreading; The one who creates all the darkness that is lurking around looking for a prey.
when they heard that the other teams got captured they were scared and got threatened, they felt that they were next if they don't make a move!
"where's our captain?! what should we do?!" a recruit cried
its been weeks since their captain went missing and all the blame went to soarin,
he was accused to why the captain is gone and now there's no one to lead them, as much as it hurts he knows he cant yet abandon his group. he tried to convince them to follow his lead and plan and they could survive but no one listened.
until the time came when they were ambushed!
the only ones to survive was him and his only 2 friends, they ran away as far where king sombra wont locate them easily, when they got to a safe place they rested.
Soarin blamed himself as well, he couldn't sleep at that night. Every time he closes his eyes he gets a montage about everything that happened, not only he has lost his family but also his spirit in fighting.

*end of flashback* *back to Rainbow's POV*
"...and it broke him like no one else did" thunderlane finished
I looked down and thought,
this is completely messed up!
I then heard sniffs from wave, me and thunderlane looked at him, he saw us and spoke,
"i-im not crying! who on earth is c-crying! Now that's j-just *sniffs* stupid" he cried,
I stood up and spoke,
"we can't just leave him like that! he has so many potential!"
"believe me, we tried as well. but we cant change his mind!" thunderlane said,
i smiled and said,
"you're right there, we can't cant change his mind, only he can...we just have to convince him"
"and how are you going to do that?" wave asked
"he has to look it in a different point of view, i feel there's more to his destiny than just a failure to everyone" i replied,
"well guess what, he doesn't want a destiny" thunderlane said,
"one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it,"
i said and ran off
"wait! where are you going?"
"leave her, she's the captain don't question it" wave grinned
