Marisol's POV- June 2018

I made my way back into my room and smiled when I saw Cody was still fast asleep. His mouth was slightly open, and I'm sure he was drooling on my pillow but he looked so relax. Unfortunately, at least for him, I had to wake him up. Chris would be dropping by soon to pick him up to go to practice and well he needed to eat.

"Cody," I said loud enough for him to furrow his eyebrows.

His eyes remained closed, but I got a small hum from him.

"Open those pretty eyes of yours" I teased.

He cracked a smile and groaned as I poked his side.

"I made breakfast," I told him.

I couldn't help but laugh as his eyes snapped open.

"Morning" I greeted.

He shifted on his back as I climbed up on the bed.

"Morning"

I smiled and did my best to fix the mess that was his hair.

"Don't botter, it has a mind of its own at this time"

A smile formed on his face as I leaned in.

"Get up" I stated before pecking his nose.

Before he could fully react, I climbed off the bed.

"That's unfair"

"I'll give Bugs your food if you don't come down in 5 minutes" I called out.

I made my way downstairs and served up two cups of coffee. A couple of minutes later, while I looked through my email, Cody walked into the kitchen.

"Where's Bugs?"

"Outside getting some sun" I replied.

I looked away from my iPad and smiled at Cody.

"Can I get my morning kiss?"

I smiled.

"I've got coffee breath," I informed him.

"Which one is yours?"

I pointed at the mug and watched as he took a rather large gulp of coffee. After that, he set the mug down and smiled.

"Now we both have coffee breath"

I laughed and accepted his kiss he was leaning in for. He took a seat next to me and gestured at my iPad.

"So do you always check your email?"

"It's a habit" I admitted.

"When do you start school again?"

"July 2nd" I replied.

He looked at me.

"That's soon"

Yup.

"How does your schedule look like?"

"I have Friday's off" I answered.

He just slowly nodded.

"Have you ever been to Chicago?"

I smiled.

"My dad wouldn't let me go Chicago with you" I admitted.

Dad was not too happy that I gave Cody another chance. The only reason Cody spent the night was that my dad worked the night shift last night, and he was okay with me not being alone in the house.

"Right, your dad hates me"

"He does not" I assured him.

"He just doesn't trust me"

Although that was true, it was not the reason.

"You told him your parents were going to join you during this road trip" I reminded him.

"Right"

"Maybe next time" I stated.

He looked at me.

"You'd join me on a road trip?"

"Yea of course as long as its a weekend series," I told him.

It was going to be hard, but we'd work this out. At the moment, I just needed dad to trust Cody.
