We learn in the lost continents that Hivewings are indeed descendants of Clearsight and a silkwing named Sunstreak. However, because they have no nightwing related powers, and they can't spin any silk, it makes me wonder; are all hivewings really just nightwing and silkwing descendants?
No think about it! they have a way to poison their enemies, what other species do we know that does that? Sandwing! and the whole completely black eyes thing doesn't make a whole lot of sense, silkwings and nightwings both have white eyes. But who has black eyes entirely? Sandwings! go look at quibli's face and then a hivewing face and TELL me that their faces aren't similarly shaped. So what I think is, either long ago, way up Clearsight's family tree, she has a sandwing ancestry, or she wasn't the only one who made it to Pantala.
Like since I'm only on book one, and not very far into it, that's all I have, I may add on to this theory later. Hey I'm just saying, and don't hate on me, add some of your own theories and I'll put them in this, whether I think they are true or not, first book or the most recent, very supported or going off a small piece of dialogue it's legible to enter the book of theories as long as it's Wings of Fire related.
