Chapter 23

I popped my head in the entrance and smiled at the two boys sitting across from the entrance slash exit looking at me.

Kaity's POV

I slowly started to climb the rest of the way into the tree house. Bill also followed me slowly popping his head in first looking from the boys to me. He climbed the rest of the way and sat next to me.

"Hi," I said quietly, causing the two boys to look at me. The one with blue hair gave me a small smile. Then he looked over to the other boy with a red beanie that I hadn't noticed before.

"Hi, my name's Josh and this is my friend Tyler. Who are you?" said Josh with a small smile on his face. Tyler looked at Josh confused before leaning over to him and whispering in his ear. Then when he was done Josh whispered something to him.

After a few seconds, Josh pulled his head away looking at Tyler for a few seconds then looked back at me and Bill. I looked over at Tyler and gave him a small smile that he returned.

"My name is Kaity and this is my friend Bill," I said now looking between the two. It went quiet after that. No one said anything so I started to look around the tree house. One of the walls was kinda black from what looked like a fire. Then on the floor, there was a word carved out. All it said was T-E-R-R-I-F-I-E-D. I started at it for a while and after a few more minutes Tyler then spoke for the first time.

"You're orange-green-purple," Tyler said pointing at Bill then he turned to me, " You, on the other hand, are yellow-purple and green-red-yellow," Tyler said then put his hand down. Then when a look of confusion appeared on me and Bill's face he looked down at his lap. Josh looked over at him and wrapped his arm around him pulling Tyler closer to him.

"What Tyler meant to say was that you're confused, Bill, and Kaity you're safe and you have a very sweet personality. Bill, he said that you're confused." Josh explained to us and we nodded slowly. By this point, Tyler had looked back up at us.

We talked for what felt like hours and Tyler and Josh explained why Tyler spoke the way he did. Tyler had gotten comfortable around me and Bill quickly and had explained his life story with the help of Josh.

He explained that no one believed that Josh existed until Tyler almost burnt the tree house down but Josh got to there just in time to stop him. He had inhaled a lot of smoke from the fire that had spread and Josh had to take him to the hospital.

After that people realized Josh was real and Tyler was taken out of therapy. We talked for hours when the sun started to set. We all climbed out of the tree house and Tyler and Josh had to go the opposite way from us so we said our goodbyes.

After that, Bill and I walked back to the Shack. When we got closer we saw Dipper and Mabel sitting on the front porch. They didn't notice us until we were right by the porch. When Mabel noticed us she ran up to me and jumped onto me hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back.

"Hi sis," Dipper said before he saw Bill then spoke again, "Who's this?"

"This is Bill," I said looking over at Dipper then at Bill, "Bill this is my little brother Dipper and my little sister Mabel," I said introducing them. I set Mabel down on the ground then she ran over to Bill and hugged his legs.

"You're tall," Mable said then looked over to me then laughed, "and she's short. PERFECT MATCH!" Mabel concluded. She had a big smile on her face. I looked up at Bill and he had a slight blush on his face as he looked down at Mabel.

After that, we went inside and to the living room. We all sat down with Dipper and Mabel in front of the couch and me and Bill sitting on the couch. We watched tv for a while and at some point I laid across the couch, my head laying on Bill's lap. He was lightly playing with my hair making me start to fall asleep. After a while, my eyes shut and I fell asleep to Bill playing with my hair.
