The next morning

I sit on the bed with my back to the wall, legs crossed as I read a book. It really wasn't all that interesting, just a book about motor efficiency. They gave me a lot of books about different researchable topics. Such as aerodynamics, gene therapy, gene mutations, history falcities, etc... Like they didn't know what novels were... They probably do, but maybe most haven't been to the surface in a while. I make a slight face as the thought passes through and flip the page. Unconsciously scratching at a couple of the scars.

It's a little sad to think I probably won't be able to see the sun for a while. Hopefully they have a venting system that brings in fresh air every now and then. Otherwise I think I might not keep my sanity.

A knock comes from the door and scares me, almost enough to lose grip of the book. I look over to the door. "Who is it?" I ask questioningly, a little afraid of who would be at the door.

"It's Tyn." His muffled voice says behind the door. I could see the shadow of his feet under the door, he looked to be shifting his weight a little bit. Like he was nervous about something.... "I've come to escort you to a chemical cleansing."

I give the door a confused look. I've heard of cleansing the body, as in a general cleansing. But what the hell is a chemical cleansing? "Umm... Ok? I have no clue what you're waiting for Doctor Tyn. I can't exactly open the door, I don't have the authorization for that." A chuckle flows through my throat as I think about that, closing the book and placing it down. A heat comes to my cheeks as I notice I wasn't wearing pants. I frantically start to grab on a pair of pants.

The smirk was almost audible as he responded and started to open the door. "I know, there's good reason for that too. As you've de-" Doctor Tyn stops with the door halfway open, a confused look on his face as he looked at me. "What...?"

I had the pants most of the way up, and was having a little trouble with the rest of the way. It was bunched at the top of course. "Just don't ask, ok?" My fingers were working fast to unravel the top to finish pulling my pants up. I gave Doctor Tyn a slight glare and flipped a couple of the drawings I made over. "What? Never seen somebody get dressed?"

Doctor Tyn chuckles. "I haven't seen someone dress like they've got the devil trying to light their ass on fire." He smirks and fixes his labcoat a little bit, Tyn looks more confident today. I wonder what he's got up his sleeve... "Forget you were half naked?"

The heat on my cheeks started to get worse, I felt a groan of aggravation start up. But stopped at the thought of him getting pleasure from my reaction. "Shut up asshole." I mutter angrily, glaring at him. He just widens his smirk and chuckles at me.

"Come on Emmeline, we've got a nice full schedule today. And the faster we get through it. The faster you get to eat." Doctor Tyn turns a little bit and heads slowly down the hall.

My jaw hangs in disbelief. I won't get to eat!? What!? I shake my head a little bit. "Wait!! Tyn!!" My feet instantly start up to a run and I slide out of my room and follow him. Almost running into Doctor Tyns' back. "Wait! I won't get to eat if we don't get through this!?"

Doctor Tyn cocks an eyebrow at me. "No, I didn't say you wouldn't get to eat. I said if we get through this faster you would get to eat sooner." He smiles and places a hand on my head for a moment. "Take a moment to think sometimes. As cruel as I am, I'm not going to starve you."
