I wince and hiss in pain as I slowly move my body so I can set one of my books down. As fast as I could heal now, it sure was taking its sweet time in doing so. Tyn had done something to my body, and had cut and taken the stitches out about an hour ago. The cuts had become scars that just went up and down my arms and legs. Along with on my chest.
Although, now my limbs were a little longer, as well as my torso. I was about a head under what Tyn was, he seemed a little pleased at that. Oh... I wouldn't know why... Shut up you smug bitch. But he made it so I was unconscious most of the time, so I'm not exactly sure what he did to me. Well, other than make me look like a lanky freak.
A knock is heard on the door, I turn my head to look at it. "You can come in." I say, wincing as I pull myself into a crisscross position.
Doctor Tyn opens the door and walks in, then over to me. "Let me see your arms." He commands, kneeling down on one knee and offering me his hands. Tyn had a slightly concerned look on his face.
"You can see them with your eyes can't you?" I smirk at him a little bit.
Tyn gives me a slight glare. "Now isn't exactly the best time to get snarky Emmeline." He warns, grabbing a light hold of my wrists and looking at the scars on my arms.
I chuckle a little bit and wince as he pushes down on the skin nearest to the scar. "Ow..." He glances up as I speak and let's go of my arms.
"Lift your shirt."
I give him a weird look, then give in and lift my shirt up until it was under my bra.
He gives me another light glare. "All the way Emmeline."
I sigh and pull it up further to show my bra, then pull it up over my head and around my neck. I was glad that I got a different bra size, my guess was that they got bigger while I was in that tank. Tyn leans forward a little bit and starts to push on the scar on my chest, I wince as he does and watch him. Watching him examine his own handiwork and scrutinize my ability to heal. Then I see him pull out a scalpel and make a quick cut on my stomach, I jump and complain but he tells me to stay quiet. So I do and watch as the cut bleeds only a slight bit, and starts to close up pretty fast.
"It almost stopped bleeding instantly." I feel his thumb run along the cut. "It's at a good healing rate, although I may need to put you through more chemical therapy."
I raise my eyebrows at him when he sticks his thumb in his mouth, then a confused look. "What? Why?" I ask in confusion. If I was able to heal that quickly, than what more could be done for it?
Tyn stands up and looks down at me. "Because, even with your healing ability as good as it is. It needs to be faster. For you to be a success, everything must be done right and there cant be a single glitch."
"As far as I see it, I'm healing just fine. Yeah, I'm a little sore, but considering the fact that the bleeding stops almost as soon as it starts. I don't think there's any glitches in it. Even then, if there was a glitch, it's not going to stop me when the final match comes."
"But that's the thing, you're a little bit overconfident with yourself that you might win. That if a glitch in your abilities comes you'll be able to shrug it off and keep going. In that fight a millisecond is everything, it's a fight to the death Emmeline. And if you hesitate for even a second you'll find yourself dead." Pain and memories clouded his eyes as he explained to me what might happen.
Curiosity shows its bitchy head and takes over, and I regret letting it. "Who are you afraid to lose again Tyn?" I ask in a strong voice I didn't even know I had. My hands instantly covered my mouth as soon as the last word left my lips.
