The heat of the summer sun surrounded a small family that has recently started moving in. A dog was barking from a distance. A gentle wind blew past, ruffling the green leaves on the trees around. A young man carried some boxes from the moving truck into the two story house that was previously purchased by his family. He went out to the vehicle and there were no more boxes. All that remained were the furniture from their old house.

"Hey dad, that's all of them!" The male exclaimed, moving his hand through his long blue hair, right past his Meif'wa ears.

"Hold on!" His father said, making his way to the front entrance. He walked out and put his hands on his waist.

(Father): "Wow, I never thought we'd be done that quickly. Your mother would be proud if she were here...."

"Don't remind me of her." The son said with words laced with poison.

(Father): "I'm sorry for opening up old wounds, (y/n)."

(y/n): "It's fine. You at least stayed with me unlike her."

(Father): "Anyway, we should probably be moving some of the furniture inside. We could buy more in the future."

A nod was the response. The father and son were inseparable ever since the incident that happened years ago. Now (y/n)'s father is making sure that his son is happy and being supportive of his child, no matter what. Moving out was one of the decisions that was made. Their old house had the imprint of the incident within its walls. The reason why they moved so late was because of work, but that's a story for another time.

-Time Skip-

The sun was beginning to set as they had finished their hard work. The moving truck was returned to the company in a nearby location. Some of the neighbors decided to help out with the move and welcomed the newcomers into the neighborhood. The two now wanted to relax and what better way than sitting on the sofa with the AC on.

(y/n): "Thank Irene, we finished in time," (y/n) wiped the sweat from his glasses.

(Father): "You said it. It might be about time to eat some dinner, eh?" The father's cat-like appendages moved about.

(Y/n): "Yeah, I'm up for it. Could we get some takeout?"

(Father): "I'm on it."

(y/n) watched as his father got out his phone to find a restaurant to order from. The son rose up from the sofa and walked upstairs to the bathroom.

He entered the room, putting his glasses off to the side. The image in front of him was mildly blurred. He washed his face with some water. After a few splashes, he took some breaths to recoup his mind. He shook his head and sighed.

"Why did I have to get her features?" (y/n) looked up to the mirror, putting his glasses back on, and there, a reflection stood.

There was a young man, whose eye and hair colors were from his mother. In addition were his Meif'wa ears and tail from his father. His hair was down to his shoulders with (f/c) framed glasses over his eyes. This was him, (y/n) (l/n), standing in a (f/c) t-shirt and (shorts/jeans).

(Father): "(y/n), food's here!" His father called from downstairs.

(y/n): "Coming!" He called back, wondering how the time passed by so quickly. Giving one final glance to the mirror, he went down the stairs to eat. As the Meif'wa went close to the ground floor, the smell of food became stronger.

The father and son ate in relative silence until there was a knock at the door. The blue haired son answered the door to find two women standing there. They look very similar, one was around his age, while the other woman was older.
