Initial Feelings

-(y/n) POV-

Why did I get dragged into this? I'm walking down to Aphmau's house to escort her to school. The sun was rising above the skyline. I have my lunch in my bag and dad left for work. Great. It was not like it was normal to be outside at silly o'clock and not being taken to school by dad.

At the doorstep, stood Kacey, Katelyn and their dad. I looked both ways before crossing to the other side of the road. I walked up the walkway and Kacey noticed me.

"Good morning (y/n)!" Kacey waved at me.

"Morning." I waved back to him. The other two turned to face me. Their dad began to look a bit aggravated.

(y/n): "Hey Katelyn."

Katelyn: "Hi." Katelyn kept her attention away from me. I should say something but I'll just leave it alone.

"So you're (Kiran/(f/n))'s son?" The man asked.

(y/n): "Y-Yes sir." Yeah, I grew scared of him.

???: "Nice to meet you! I'm Katelyn and Kacey's dad!" He held out his hand and we shook.

(y/n): "Nice to meet you too, sir."

???:"Oh come on, drop the formalities! I ain't gon' bite!"

(y/n): "Oh okay." I grew uneasy about his mood flip. First, he was being protective and now he's being nice? Yeah, officially scared.

Eric: "My name's Eric."

(y/n): "I'm-"

Eric: "I already know your name because ya' dad and I go way back!"

(y/n): "Good to know, Eric." I don't know what to say anymore I'm so scared.

Katelyn: "All right, you two. (Y/n), you know what we're doing?" Katelyn asked.

(y/n): "Yeah. We're walking Aphmau to school because her mom's a protective parent. Got it."

Katelyn: "Okay.... How did you get that idea?"

(y/n): "Lucky guess." 

I chuckled a bit under my breath. After a while, the door was opened to reveal Sylvanna. Eric walked in and then the two siblings. I decided to stay outside, sitting on the steps. I heard their conversation and Katelyn said something about 'walking-to-school buddies.' Yay.

Katelyn, Kacey and Aphmau came walking out.

Aph: "(Y/n)? You're here too?" The brunette asked.

(y/n): "Yeah, my dad wanted me to come along too."

Aph: "Cool! Now let's get going!"

I got up from my seat and walked along behind them. As we passed by the fence, I glanced back to Eric and Sylvanna. The gazes from their parents on me felt like a hawk. I kept walking with my head down.

-Eric's POV-

"Sylvanna, why did you let him get involved with this?" I asked, as we approached the kitchen table.

"Because...I feel that (y/n) could be a support figure for Aphmau and Katelyn," She answered, picking up one of the tacos she had made.

Eric: "I'm not sure I'm followin'."

Sylvanna: "Eric, think about it. If any boys were to go near the two, (y/n) could step in between to prevent anything from happening."

Eric: "I'm sure he can but..."

Sylvanna: "If you're still hung up on that, I'm sorry. It wasn't his fault."

Eric: "Sylvanna. I'm not thinking about that. I'm just worried about the relationship between my sugar pea and him."
