Saying Goodbye

Sitting in her room, Alexandra Crane was humming a song while writing down some lyrics and making beats. Brandy's "Sittin' Up In My Room" was playing on her music playlist. She was 16 years old and was already dreaming of becoming a singer-songtress. But, deep down inside, she knows her parents don't approved of it.
-Alex, her father called.
Alex came out her room to see what her father wants with her.
- Yes dad?
- I've got a call from your teacher today. Apparently, she says you disrupted class with your singing.
- Dad.... I- I can explain.
Before her dad can scold her, Alex's mother, Rose, walked in the door and into the kitchen to see what was going on.
- What's going on?, asked Rose.
- Well, I've got a call from Alex's school today, and she was disrupting class with her singing.
- Oh really, Alex, so you want to be a singer now, asked her mother.
- Speaking of that, when I grow up, I want to be a singer and write my own songs.
Her father and mother laughed. Alex looked stunned at her parent's reaction.
- What's so funny, asked Alex.
- You? Wants to be a singer? That's hilarious, said her father.
- Dad, Mom, this is really my dream. I want to be a singer and write my own songs that I can vibe with.
- Alex, honey, you're just not ready to take on the music industry, says her mother.
- Mom, I'm ready, I really want to be a singer.
- Alexandra, I don't really think you're ready yet, her dad implied.
- Dad, if I can just prove it to y'all. Please?
- Oh ok, let's see what you got, her father said with a sigh.
Alex started singing and when she was done, her father was smiling while looking at her mother.
- So, how did I do, Alex said while smiling.
- That.... was.... good, Alex. I really gotta give it to you. But.....
- But what, Dad?
- But, I still think you're not ready yet.
- Dad, I'm ready, I can do it.
- Alexandra Crane, I said you're not ready and that's FINAL, he yelled.
Alex ran to her room, locked her door, and started to cry. She was ready to leave this house. Alex decided to call up her boyfriend, Derek, to see if she can stay with him.
- Hello, he answered.
- Hey, Derek. I need to talk to you.
- Sure, wassup?
- I was wondering if... if I...
- If you can what?
- If I can stay with you, I can't live with my parents no more.
- Uhmm, sure, you can stay with me as long as you need to.
- Okay, I'm gonna try and sneak out of here.
- Okay, see you when you get here.
Alex hung up the phone, unlocked her door, and started to pack her bags.
Her mother came in and Alex quickly hid the bag.
- Alex, me and your father are going out for tonight and we won't be back until after 11.
- Okay, Alex said.
Once her mom left the room, she went back to packing. When her father and mother left for the evening, Alex decided it was time to leave the house now and for good. She hopped in her car and pulled out the driveway. She looked at the house she onced lived in and pulled off.
