Alex was sleeping very peacefully until she felt a slap on her leg, which caused her to wake up. She looked up and saw Simone standing over her.
-Get up, girl. We already behind schedule.
- What time is it?
- It's 11:05. We was supposed to meet Jahil at the studio at 10:30.
- Holy crap, lemme get dressed.
- Derek Babe, Get up.
Alex kept shaking Derek for him to wake up. But, she had no other choice but to slap him. Derek jumped up as soon as Alex slapped him, HARD.
- Damn, babe. You ain't had to hit me like that.
-That was the only way so I can get you up off me.
- Why you want me to get up so bad?
- I got to hurry up and get dress. Me and the girls bout to head to the studio.
Alex got up from off the couch and went in the room she shares with Derek, trying to figure out what to wear.
- It's hard being a girl, she thought.
She went in the bathroom and turned on the shower. After she finished her shower, she threw on something comfortable: a white tank top, some workout shorts, and a pair of old Jordan's. She then grabbed her keys from off the dresser and headed in the living room.
- Y'all ready, she asked.
She then looked around the room in confusion, looking for Star.
- Simone, where's Star?
- I don't know. Last time I checked she was outside. She must be over at Ms. Carlotta's.
- Okay, I'm finna go check. Meanwhile, wait in the car.
Alex gave Simone the keys to the car while Alex went next door to look for Star. She knocked on the door and then entered.
- Morning Everyone, She Said as she entered the shop.
- Morning Hun, Cotton Said, While she was working in the Appointment book.
- Cott, You Seen Star anywhere?
- Yeah, she's upstairs.
- Ok, thanks.
- Welcome.
Alex went upstairs, looking for Star.
- Star, she yelled. STAR, STAR, She yelled again.
She heard a female cry coming from one of the rooms. As she entered the room where the cry was coming from, she found Star on the floor, crying. Alex ran over to see what happened.
- What Happened, She Asked Star.
Before Star could answer, she saw Star Had a bruise on the left side of her cheek.
- Who did this to you?
- It's nothing, I'm okay.
- No, you're not. Now what happened?
- Hun- Hunter Hit me.
- NO THE FUCK THAT NIGGA DIDN'T! Why did he do it?
- We Had a big argument and I told him I was leaving him. He grabbed me and I pulled away. That's when he slapped me... HARD.
Star started to break down even harder. Alex Took the blonde in her arms for comfort.
- Don't worry, Star. I promise he won't hit you again.
- How Do you know that, the blonde said as she looked up at Alex.
- Because you won't be going around him again.
- But I Need To Get My Things From His House.
- I'll come with you after we leave the studio.
- Thanks Alex, I really appreciate you.
- You're welcome. That's what's Friends for. Come on, let's get you cleaned up and head to the studio.
The two cleaned Star's face up and headed to the car.
- What was Taking y'all two so long, Simone asked as they got into the car.
- I had to use the restroom, Star lied.
Simone Put In her earbuds and the 3 headed to the studio to meet up with Jahil. Jahil was checking his watch when they walked in.
- Y'all are all the way behind schedule, he said.
- That's a nice way to greet us, Star said snappily.
- Anyways, lemme See What y'all been working on.
The girls pulled out chairs and they singed:
He gives me that Suga, Suga, Suga, Suga...
After they were finished, Jahil clapped.
- That... Was... Alright, he said.
- What we need to work on, Simone asked.
- Well, yall need to work on yall dance moves. Now, remember, Atlanta Next Fest is approaching, he told them.
- I was thinking we can do another song, like "Heartbreak", Alex suggested.
- Thats a good idea, Alex, he responded. Well, I'll see yall girls tomorrow, and please, be ON TIME, he said.
- Dont make us come late on purpose, Star turned around and said as they were heading out.
As they were heading to the car, Alex stopped Star as she gave Simone the keys to the car.
- What you wanna do, Alex asked the blonde.
- Lets drop Simone off home and head to Hunter's from there, she replied.
- Okay.
The two dropped Simone off back at Ms. Carlotta's and they headed to Hunter's house. The drive was silent until they pulled into Hunter's driveway.
- I think you should stay in the car, Star suggested.
- No, Im coming in with you, I dont want you to get hurt worse.
- Okay, I guess.
The two got out the car and walked towards the house. Star pulled out her house key Hunter gave her and let themselves in.
- Okay, lets grab your stuff and get from outta here, Alex said.
- Okay, follow me.
The two went to the room Star shared with Hunter, grabbed everything she brought with her, and hurried out the room. Before they could leave the house, they encountered Hunter, who was standing before them.
- What the hell you're doing here, and who's this bitch here with you, he asked.
- Excuse me, Im here to get my things, and dont be calling my friend no bitch, Star replied back.
Next thing they both knew, Hunter slapped Star and threw Alex over the couch. Alex slowly looked up and saw Hunter dragging a screaming and kicking Star in the back and slammed the door. All Alex heard was screaming and slapping. Alex pulled herself up and looked at herself in the mirror. Her bottom lip was bleeding, her face had a big bruise, and her arm was scratched up. She looked around the house and found a metal pipe. When she found the room the two were in, she hit Hunter over the head with the pipe and hit him again until he couldn't move. She found Star on the floor, with a bloody nose and bruised face, crying and shaking. Alex picked the blonde up, hurried out the house, and drove away.
