It Takes Courage...

Alex pulled up in front of Derek's house. She knocked on the door and he answered the door.
- Come in, he said.
She walked in the house and sat on the couch. Derek sat beside her.
- Can I get you something to eat or drink?
- You have any Scotch, she asked while rubbing her temples.
- No, he laughed. But I do have some water.
- Yes, water will be fine.
He hands her the glass of water and sat down beside her.
- What's wrong, he asked.
- So, you know I always dreamed of being a singer and write my own songs?
- Yeah, he replied. Why?
- I told my parents that and they laughed at me. Then, I sung for them and they still said I wasn't ready.
- What? That's fucked up, babe.
- I know, and it hurts me because I thought they would understand me becoming what I wanna become.
Alex started to sob and Derek took her into his arms.
- Babe, don't worry. I will support your dreams.
- You will?
- Yeah, because I love you so much.
Derek leaned in and kissed Alex for a minute.
- Derek, I have something to tell you.
- What is it?
- Okay, promise you won't be mad at me when I tell you this.
- I promise I won't. Now tell me.
- Okay, so my dad is uhmm..... my dad is.....
- Your dad is who?
- My dad is Roland, Roland Crane.
Derek looked down at the floor for a second. He looked at Alex and said,
- Because I didn't know how to tell you and... and..
- And you thought I wanted money from you didn't you?
- Derek, Alex said with a sigh.
- Babe, I love you. And I don't care if your dad's famous or not, I will always love you for who you are.
- You really mean that?
- Of course I do.
Derek and Alex kissed again and watch TV for a while. An hour later, Alex fell asleep on Derek.
- Alex, babe, he said as he was tapping her to wake her up.
- Yeah, babe, I fell asleep, didn't I?
- Yeah, you did, he said with a laugh.
- Well, I guess it is getting kinda late and we should go to sleep.
- Okay, well, you can take my bed, and I'll take the couch.
Alex took Derek's bed and he took the couch. While going to sleep, she was thinking, "I need to find some more talent that can go along with mines."
