like drops of dew, you melted away too fast
for when morning comes, every dream has to pass
like drops of dew, you were a transient beauty
how foolish was anyone who believed it would lastall i can do now, is kiss your image
all i can do now, is pile up the words i thought to say
and here are they, here are they
all those words i really should have said
the gentle goodbye for which my aching hurt craveswas it the sun that scared you
or the night that hardened your heart?
was it the world that wronged you
or the cage in which you tried to trap your heart?did you know how special, how beautiful you are?
you're drops of dew twinkling like stars on grass so green
you're a fluttering butterfly, a precious doll made of china
you're a perfect contradiction, a lovely anomaly
both a fragile princess and a strong, valiant queenyou're a priceless jewel, an irreplaceable pillar
without you, will this castle, once proud and grand
slowly chip away and crumble to the sand?
with its very foundations shaken, can a castle even stand?i was too scared to dare hold onto you tight,
if i had, would you have broken and fallen apart before my eyes?
i love you, i miss you and i never told you this but -
among a thousand woes, you were a sweet respite
among a thousand wrongs, you always felt so rightthe truth is that more than anything else,
you're just some faraway dream
i see you through a veiled curtain,
always further away than you seem
perhaps even before you left,
you were already gone for meyou're a dream i can never touch but can somehow feel
a loving smile i can never see but still always haunting me
a warm, tragic dream that's just out of reachoh, why have you gone so far away?
there were still too many words left to say
a guilt-stricken heart begging to see your face
your longing wish hanging unfulfilled in the suffocating airlike drops of dew, you melted away too fast
for when morning comes, every dream has to pass
like drops of dew, you were a transient beauty
how foolish was anyone who believed it would last
in tender, loving memory of my amazing aunt <3
