(Y/n)'s POV

After the last few minutes of the class pasted, I dashed out the class has quickly has I could. Avoiding my ex boyfriend and ex best friend. And unintentionally avoiding Naruto. I drifted away from the crowd in the hallway and my my way to the roof for a, hopefully, calm lunch. I really could do with some alone time. Especially after that horrid class!

'How could Kakashi partner me up with Sasuke and Sakura!?'

I sighed, attempting to release some of my stresses. I swung the door that lead to the door open, having close my eyes slightly has the adjusted to the bright sun.

Expecting for it to be empty, I was relatively surprised to see the tall form of a long haired male. He was sitting on the only bench that over looked the view. I smiled, not minding Neji being there. I didn't feel the need to turn around and find a different peaceful place to eat lunch. Any place is calming if Neji is there.

Speaking of the boy, he was staring straight ahead of him and upon closer inspection, I saw he was just stuck in his thoughts. I decided to gently take the seat next to him, already feeling significantly better. I took out my sandwiches that Konan packed and my soda and begun eating.

Taking a quick look at Neji's face, I could tell he was thinking of something both frustrating and important. I took a few bites of my food and two sips of my soda before looking at Neji again, only to see him already looking at me with a soft look.

Neji's POV

I felt a sudden warmth next to me and turned my head to see where it had suddenly come from. The sight caused my heart to skip several beats. (Y/n), who had been in my very thoughts moments ago, was now sitting next to me. Her hair was ruffled in the cool breeze and her eyes were focused in her food in her hands.

I have always been a person who believed in destiny, this is no secret. I believe that (Y/n)'s sudden break up with the Uchiha was destiny. I believe that her suddenly appearing here is destiny. I believe that being with her, living a life with her, growing old with her...I believe that is my destiny.

Soon her eyes shifted to look at me, she smiled softly and spoke with cheer yet concern.

"Heyo!" She spoke. "How you feeling? You look like something is on your mind."

She is perfect. She cares for me. My heart melted at the thought of me simply leaning forward and giving her a gentle peck like I've seen Sasuke do.

When did I fall for Ms. (L/n)?

It must have been a few months before that jerk stole her from me...no he didn't steal her from me. He just had more balls than me to make a move.

But now...

"I need to tell you something important." I put my poker face on and stares into her (e/c) eyes.

"Mmm? What's it?" She stared back with curious eyes.

'M-maybe its too soon...I m-mean they broke up over the weekend...at least that's what Naruto told me when I passed by him this morning. What if...what if she doesn't return my feelings? We did drift apart over this past year...' Doubt begun to fill me.

"I.." I pushed my low self-esteem aside. "(Y/n), I am-"

A strong gust of wind blew past, blowing around our hair and almost knocking us off the bench but it soon pasted.

"Wow...that was a really strong wind! Do you think it might be a sign of a storm?"

"Well, dark clouds have been gathering...but I was trying to tell you that I-"

A flock of white doves flew overhead, causing a noise. We both looked up and watched them fly by. When I looked down, (Y/n) was staring at them with a gentle smile. I couldn't help but mimic it as I stared at her.

"Sorry..." She soon snapped out of it and gave me a sheepish smile. "You were say?"

"(Y/n)...I really-" my cell phone started ringing. Thinking it might be important, I checked the caller ID.

'Hinata'

I answered the call.

"Hello Hinata, is everything alright?"

"Hey Neji, its Ino. Hinata isn't feeling too great. She's in the girls bathroom on the first floor...getting sick. I think you should take her home."

I grinded my teeth in annoyance but I had to be there for my cousin. Hinata was like a sister to me.

"I'll be there in a moment. Get her things ready to leave." I ended the call and looked at the girl sitting next to me.

"Everything okay?" She asked with concern.

"It was Ino. I need to take Hinata home. I'll call you later." I stood up and marched to my cousin without another word. I felt so embarrassed.

'I couldn't do it...again...'
