Before you ask it, yes, I put myself in this au, because I needed a name, I'm egocentric and I would really like to be in this au. Now move on.
Logan wasn't exactly fond of changes. At all. Specially when it interfered in his schedule. So, needless to say, the boy was annoyed by the delay of dinner.
It's not that it was going to matter, really. Logan spent the one and a half hour like he'd spent the 3 hours before that: in a boat in the middle of the lake, with a pile of books, reading and studying. It was quite a midterm for the camp exactly what Logan did in the middle of the lake. Of course, they all believed he was reading or some 'nerd stuff' like that. What he studied, or read, was everyone's guess.
Logan's interest varied, and so did his concentration, as he read about six books at the same time. Astronomy, History, Greek Mythology, Greek Language (some of the books were in Greek), Biology and Suspense (mainly Agatha Christie) were his favorite subjects.
Still, as he walked in the direction of the dining halls, it was in annoyance. The seventeen year old boy sat in the table amongst his siblings, feeling a little bit of sadness. His siblings were... nice. They were rarely mean, but they were too loud. The Athena kids were more his style, or at least he could talk to them. As much as Logan tried to 'chat' with the Apollo kids, the conversation never really lasted.
Logan envied the DiAngelo guy. He was allowed to sit on someone else's table. But those were different conditions. He was alone, he was scary and he had a boyfriend. Logan had none of those options.
The Apollo table was one of the biggest one in the camp. And even the Hades cabin was quite full these days. It had about 3 kids. And that's because Hades was faithful to his wife. Poseidon's and Zeus' tables were bigger.
Logan's gaze went to Zeus' table. Yes, he already arrived.
Deceit Lawyer. Son of Zeus. 21 years old. Mean. Powerful. Kind of an ass. At least that's what Logan thought about him.
Lawyer rarely talked to Logan, what he enjoyed a lot. But the mischievousness and the aura that boy exhaled annoyed him.
Logan's mind shifted as he didn't pay any attention to the conversation at his table. He was worrying about the exams he would have to do this year so he could go to college when he heard someone calling his name.
"Hey Logan, how many people do you recognize today?"
Logan didn't recognize the voice, but it didn't really matter. He looked around the hall.
"Well, there's the Sanders, Prince, Dunn, Lawyer" he said that name with some spite, which earned giggles from the rest of the table "Talyn, Joan, Alexander, Raymond, the Bonelli girl... what's her name? Maria! And I guess that's it. It's only the beginning of summer, after all."
The rest of the table continued, mentioning other names Logan wasn't familiar or forgot to mention.
In a blink of an eye, dinner was over. All the campers were vibrating. It was Friday. And that meant Catch the Flag. Some people started to get up, but Chiron motioned for them to stay put.
"Good evening, everyone." The centaur started "Once again, we are sorry for the delay of dinner. I am sure that you were all angry and hungry, and even though your annoyance had a reason, I am sure that exploding the toilets in rebellion were exaggerated."
Laughs were heard from the Poseidon table. One kid raised her hand like she won a boxing competition.
"Let me push your button a little more. I know you are all eager to play Catch the Flag..."
"I WANT BLOOD" A boy screamed from the Ares table.
"Yes yes sure. But before that, I have an announcement to make. In August, it's going to make 30 years since the Titan War. In celebration, we are doing a ball."
Chaos ruled. Teens at the Hephaestus table moaned. Some jumped in euphoria. The Aphrodite kids giggled and screeched. One of them even passed out. Some kids asked if it was mandatory. Deceit Lawyer asked if alcohol was allowed. A small eleven-year-old in the Hermes table asked "Ball? Like in volley?"
When everyone calmed down, Chiron continued to speak.
"A summer ball, Mr. Linz. As in one you dance and party. No, Mr. Lawyer, no alcohol. No, it's not mandatory. Our heads of cabin have been working on this for quite a while. It's going to be fun, or at least they promised me. Now, no longer chatting. Let's go play Catch the Flag."
The hall divided, with about half of the campers going West and about half going East.
Logan looked around, trying to recognize the cabins he was partner with. The leaders were Nike and Hecate. Nike was usual, but no one saw it coming that Talyn would catch the Flag last game. Logan was in Nike's side. So was Zeus, Athena, Hephaestus, Dionysius, Hades and Iris.
The cabin leaders arrived with the orders. Logan was to be in the middle field, shooting arrows (not pointy ones, only gas ones) at whoever passed that point. Boring. But needed.
With a sigh, Logan walked over to the woods.
