Virgil wondered into the kitchen on a particularly lovely morning. Patton was standing by the stove, attempting to flip a pancake.
Patton jumped as he felt a hand on his sholder, then giggled and turned to face the dark side."Hey virgil! You're up earlier then usual!" Patton smiled, eyes on Virgil while he played with the pancake mixure in the pan before him.
"Well, I guess I just.. Felt like getting up today." Virgil started, hands being taken off the father figure.
"That's great, Virgil. Maybe you can help me with breakfast." smile still plastered on his face.
"-And maybe he can maintain a healthy sleeping schedule with that attitude." logan offered while entering the kitchen, book in hand.
Virgil played with his sweater sleeves while glancing around the kitchen for something in particular. He walked over to the window, staring outside for a second. He needed something. A distraction. A skeleton key.
(i use this phrase too much)
There was a knock at the door just as Logan sat at the table."I'll get it!"
Patton was quick to the front door, leaving Virgil alone in the kitchen with the stove on."That was easier then I thought.." is all Logan heard from Virgil as he looked up from his book. He spotted Virgil climb the counter and reach for the cookie jar.
" Good morning fellow citizens!!" Roman bursted as he rose into the livingroom, just in time to scare Virgil half to death and slip.
Virgil felt his heart drop and waited for the cold ground to hit but instead, he got silky clothed warm strong arms catch him in time.Logan went back to reading his book after knowing that nothing too hectic went wrong. Mornings like this just always felt as though the world would cave in on them.
"Th-thanks.." Virgil muttered breathlessly, eyes locked with Roman. It was clear they were both flushed, though Roman could easily say he was only red because of how quickly he dashed and saved anxiety.
But Virgil had no excuse, if anything he should be pale out of his wits."Now virgil, what in Zeus's name are you doing mountain climbing the counter top? And.. This early..?" Roman glanced up to where Virgil was climbing and spotted what he was after.
"I..I was just...." Virgil started, unable to find the courage to lie or even say the right words to be discrete enough.
And as if things couldn't get worse for virgil, Patton entered the kitchen with joan, who shot a questioning look to them both.
Roman was quick to put Virgil down, then both flustered and clearing their throats and dusting themselves off. From the livingroom, they all heard a quiet chuckle from Logan.
Virgil palms sweated slightly and he pocketed his hands.
He didn't know what to say. He didn't know what to do. And everyone's eyes were on him. He felt his throat close up as he kept his head downwards and he tried to take a deep breath. Deceit rose into the kitchen with them all, smirking as he watched the fellow dark side fidget anxiously."Yes Virgil, tell us what happened~"
"I ..I was.. On the counter because.... Because...."
Patton glanced up to the counter and realized what happened. Besides the counter was the fridge. On top of the fridge was the cookie jar.
Virgil heard noise from behind him to find Patton grabbing the cookie jar from the fridge. He opened it and handed everyone a cookie, even tossing one to Logan who was in the livingroom. Logan caught it without even looking up from his book.
Patton smiled at Virgil in a silent encouragement to his confession.
"I was going to get a cookie."
Deceit hissed in disapproval as he sunk and took a bite from the cookie Patton have him.
Joan shrugged, putting a hand on virgils back."We all have a sweet tooth in this house hold." Joan smiled, trying to help the situation
"Uh guys-" Logan started, The moment was ruined as the fire alarms went off. The pancake on the stove was burning and creating smoke.
Patton was quick to rush over and put the pan into the sink, turning the sink in cold. That morning virgil and Patton made a cake for breakfast.
