"Life can be a struggle, mostly when you least expect it. It's like a slap in the face. Sometimes you could be the cause of it, but it's best to fix your mistake than leave it. It's like a chain reaction. Karma could be right around the corner if you leave the problem broken."

The drive was quiet, but that was because I fell asleep. Benji had the radio turned on classical music the whole time, and it was pretty late when I left work. I was tired, that was all I knew. So I slept. I never have dreams, so I never knew why sleep was such a beautiful thing. All I knew about sleep is that it's important. I woke up to the sunrise through the window. It wasn't anything new to look at since I see it every morning when I wake up. But this sunrise seemed different. I didn't think much of it. I shifted in my seat to get comfortable again. "Good morning William~" he basically sang out. Why is he so chipper?
I rolled over to see him smiling brightly at me. I just give him a glare, "why are you so happy?"
"Because today I just realized that one of my favorite breakfast places is down the road." You're excited over a din-in that's in the middle of nowhere? "And that you're here to share all these small moments with me." He looks down at the stirring wheel in thought, his smile faded, but it never left his face. I sit up and look out the passenger window. He was driving down dirt like road, but there were very few buildings in the area. We're probably not that far from the city.
I rub my face to wake up more and place my glasses back on. "So, Benji. What kind of person are you?"
"What kind. Hmm, well I'm part Irish and a little bit of Norwegian." Are you serious? What an idiot.
"No you imbecile, your personality."
He chuckles, "I know. You can already tell I'm a very fun person to be with." No, you're just annoying. "I also really enjoy space, it's so big and beautiful. Whenever I look up at the stars and planets, it always reminds me that every little thing that people worry about is meaningless. That there are bigger things in this world, and that everything is going to be okay." I didn't ask for a life lesson. "I look up at the sky pretty often." Maybe that's why you're so optimistic. You're completely oblivious to the society.
"Okay," I gave out a heavy sigh at the end.
"What about you? What kind of person are you, personality-wise."
"Well, I'm very hard working, I also enjoy reading horror novels, and I intend to follow the rules of life."
"Oh, I see. I liked the part about the horror novels, which kinds do you read?"
"I mainly read mystery, delusional and paranormal kind of stuff."
"So like horror mind illusions?"
"Yeah, I guess you can call it that."
Benji hummed in response. The drive was quiet, for only 3 minutes until he yelled out, "look Will! The breakfast place! Oh, I'm so excited. I can taste the waffles now." My stomach growled by Benji's words about food. "Looks like someone else is hungry too." Well, he wasn't wrong. He pulled up into the slightly empty parking lot. By the looks of it, I'm guessing this place is more like a stop for truck drivers. Benji gets out after turning off the car. I look up at the building to see it wasn't all that bad looking. It was probably around 15 years old, or less.
The place was called, "Peggy's. Interesting. Do you come here often?" I look over at Benji who was making sure he had everything.
"I use to, but it's been about two months since my last visit here." We walk inside and a waiter greets us behind the counter. They had a black t-shirt on and brown chestnut hair that came to a fringe look with blue eyes.
