Dear Ben,
You obviously know why you're receiving this letter. Yes, I have passed onto another life. Everything is going to be better than okay. I just want to let you know that my life wasn't meaningless. That you were the one who made it special.
The first time I saw you, I just couldn't put it into words. You were a hot mess of a guy. Which reminded me of myself, pretty funny huh. I never thought I would cross paths with someone like you, but I was wrong and I'm glad I did. Without you in my life, it probably would have been meaningless. You brighten every second of my time being here on the face of the earth. I'm proud to have called you my friend. I'm proud to know that someone like you were here to fulfill my dreams and memories.
You're such a dork, an emotional wreck, and a total comical guy. I love everything about you, even your flaws. Your imperfections are just as great as your perfections. You were like my other world. We would always act like kids and do stupid stuff. But we were born for it. To this day, I still can't stop laughing when you fell over the side of the park bridge. I think one of the ducks liked you. And the time when you sneezed while having a blooding nose. I can still taste it on my tongue. Make sure to cover your nose next time.
I don't want to be remembered by my death, but I also don't want to be forgotten. You're too special to me, so that's why I wish to be turned into ash. So you can take me to all the places we went and spread me where we've been. I only want you to do it. Please don't let someone else do it, I put my trust in you on where you wish to put me. You'll find someone along the way, and I'll make sure of it. I'll watch over you and everyone else in my life that have made it meaningful. I'll make sure you're happy. That all your wishes will come true.
I've told you before. You're not going to be alone, Benji. You're going to find the one for you. You'll see me again in my next life. Cause there's nothing that will tear our friendship apart. You'll always be in my heart. I'll never take you for granted.
Thank you so much for being in my life.
Sincerely, Samuel (with much love)

I place the pen down with a shaky hand. I look at the letter I wrote, which the handwriting was kind of sloppy. I look up at my nurse who was checking my machines and tubing. "Hey Elizabeth, can you do me a huge favor?" I asked her as I folded the letter and put it into an envelope.
"Of course, what is it?" She looks up from her clipboard.
"Can you give this to the front desk please?"
"Yeah, and who is it for?" She takes the envelope gently from my hands.
"Someone by the name of Benjamin will wish to visit me. He's the usual visitor."
"Oh him, I'll make sure to tell them. Anything else?"
I grip at the white sheets and let out a shaky breathe of air. "Yes actually. Um, can you please pull my cord when I fall asleep?"
Her blue eyes go wide, "Samuel, that's a lot to ask. I don't know if that's a good idea."
I look down at my hands, seeing them twitch. "I'm sure of it. I've been in the hospital over two weeks. And it's just torture. It's draining me slowly and I feel like I can't do anything." I look up at her. Her brown hair was pulled into a bun with hair off the sides and her bangs covering her forehead. "I overheard the doctors that my condition is getting worse anyway."
She lets out a sigh, "okay. I'll have to ask Vick if it's okay. Are you sure this is what you want?" Her eyes were glazed over with tears.
"I'm sure of it." I give her a gentle smile, then spread my arms out for a hug.
She gives me hug and said, "you're such an amazing person Samuel. You deserve more than you think." Her hands grabbed tight on my hospital gown. I can hear her sniffles in my ear.
"You were very helpful to me Elizabeth. Thank you so much for taking care of me." She pulls apart from the hug and stands up straight while wiping her eyes. "You're a wonderful person."
She leans forward and kisses my forehead gently before walking to the door. She then stops in the doorway. "Good night Samuel."
I give her a smile. "Good night Liz." She closes the door and that was that. I lay down and look out the window at the sky that was scattered in stars. I smile. "See you in another time, Ben," I said before falling asleep, forever. Even if this is the end for me, it's not going to be a meaningless life that's left behind. My short trip of life didn't end. It's going to still continue, but in the life of another. This road trip of life isn't going anywhere, it's going nowhere. We'll never know where it's gonna go. So make it a memorable one.
