(Told from Harry's Point of view)

Not surprisingly, Loki and Hermione were rarely found in the same room. Occasionally, he'd come back and ask if I'd heard anything from Cho, but otherwise, he was scarcely seen.

And then— It happened.

Cho approached me the day before Christmas and told me that she was accepting my offer and would be going with me to the ball. I was beside myself with excitement.

Luckily, Loki did spend his Christmas with us. Dobby visited me, I got a pretty necklace from Loki, which he claimed would boost my confidence. Of course, he left for what he said would be a moment, and didn't come back for the rest of the day, until...

I put on my dress robes with Ron, Seamus, Dean and Neville in the Boys dorm, and returned to the common room, where we waited for the time that the Yule ball would start. Until we heard footsteps, or more like the clip-clop of heels, walking down from the boys dorm.

"Isn't everyone already down he—" Seamus began, but was cut off immediately when the person walking down the stairs appeared. It was a woman— one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen— almost like a Veela. Her skin was smoother than silk, and the hair that fell past her shoulders was jet black and thick. She wore a golden crown that curved like a goat's horns over her head and black lipstick with dark eyeshadow and long lashes. And I hadn't even begun with her dress— it was smooth, billowy, and yet not ruffley or Lacey. She wore a sparkly, half-clear cloak over her green, scaly dress, which had a very long slit down one side. A fluffy boa draped down her shoulders, looking as though it was part of her dress and cloak. She wore black boots that were taller than her knees, but you could still she her skin right in the slit of her dress.

Every eye was on female Loki. Her eyes bore into mine, as she walks a few more steps down the stairs. Whoever was going with her was a lucky duck.

"Don't you get too attracted." She says, smiling. "I dare say you all have dates too..."

She wiggled her fingers at me and walked out of the common room.

"Damn." Ron mutters, standing up and watching where Loki had just left. "If I knew he'd be that feminine gold, then I woulda asked him."

"That was Loki?" Seamus mutters, his mouth agape. "Since when could he--she-- turn into--"
"Since forever." Ron shrugs. "But damn-- that ass--"
"Ron, calm down." I chuckle, smiling. "He's still a boy half the time."

I headed down to the entrance hall, immediately trying to spot Cho among the crowd. When I do find her, I sort of shuffle toward her, and she looks toward me, wearing a pretty, midnight blue dress. It's a silky, satin material, and her hair hung on her shoulders in an attractive way. But as pretty as she was, an image of female Loki kept coming up in my head.

"Champions, over here please!" McGonagall called over by the great hall doors. I took Cho by her hand and led her forward, looking straight toward McGonagall. I saw Fleur walk forward, hand in hand with the Ravenclaw quidditch captain Roger Davies, followed Shortly by Krum, and then Cedric.

The rest of the of the couples entered the great hall, as the champions would enter after them once everyone else had sat down. Loki joined us a moment after, accompanied by— my heart gave a horrible jolt— Malfoy. His dress robes were of deep green, with a golden cravat and black cuffs. A large, cape-like piece of fabric draped over his shoulder and connected to his hip with a golden clip.

Fleur, Cedric, and Krum all looked behind at Loki, who smiled in a mischievous way. I got a look at Cedric's partner, who was a Hufflepuff girl that I didn't recognize, and then at Krum's partner, who was— my heart gave another jolt— Hermione. But she didn't look like Hermione: her hair was shiny and sleek, pulled back into an elegant knot on the back of her head. She was wearing a dress of periwinkle blue, and was smiling rather nervously.
