Namjoon and Seokjin have already known each other even before they were born. Well, kind of.
Even though already married, their mothers were inseperable still. Not a day passed where they didn't call or text one another until one day, the two ladies finally decided to live beside each other, their husbands not even surprised about the sudden decision anymore.
They bought houses which stood side by side and raised their kids with the help and guidance of one another.
Both families were there when Seokjin first opened his eyes, when Namjoon drank from his first bottle, when Seokjin crawled for the first time and when Namjoon finally learned to stand on both feet.
Both families were there when Seokjin uttered his first words and were there to witness Namjoon's first steps and tripping fiasco as well.
They were there when Namjoon punched a kid in the playground for teasing Seokjin, when Jin got called in the Principal's office for calling a girl ugly and smelly which made her cry, when Namjoon and Seokjin got into their first fight and ignored each other for a few hours, when both boys got into middle school then graduated and got into high school.
The two families were each other's witness for any small or big life event. And true enough, Namjoon's family was there when Seokjin lost his biological father.
Namjoon was only eight when he realized he likes Jin more than a friend. A little too young but then again, Namjoon was a lot smarter than most kids his age.
Seokjin was a year older but both kids never acknowledged that fact since Namjoon has never addressed the older as Hyung, Seokjin telling him not to since it made him sound old.
Seokjin was in third grade, was just about to turn nine while Namjoon was in grade two, just turned eight when the whole incident happened.
The incident that made Seokjin the man that he is today.
The sound of a fist hitting the concrete wall had Jimin flinching, his eyes full of unshed tears, his lips slightly quivering.
"N-Namjoon, your hand..." Eunbi's voice was barely audible as she tried to take a step towards the furious Namjoon. She glanced at the quiet Heechul who slowly shook his head, silently telling her to stay put.
Eunbi opened her mouth to object but the look Heechul gave her made her close them again. She pursed her lips and gave Namjoon's bleeding hand one last look before focusing her gaze on some students playing soccer outside.
The room is quiet, tense air dancing around. Taehyung and Jeongguk are quietly standing by the closed door, their eyes continuously darting between Namjoon and Jimin who stood a few feet away.
The older is stood on one end of the long table inside, his right hand tightly balled into a fist by his side, droplets of sticky blood falling into the shiny floor, now creating a small puddle.
On his right stood Jimin, head down as he tried to stop himself from crying.
On the other side, Heechul casually have his back against the wall, hands in his pockets as he silently observed. Steps away from him is Eunbi, staring outside as she tried to calm her nerves.
"This is all your fault." It wasn't a question but a statement and the words cut through the thick suffocating air, hitting Jimin like a freight train, almost knocking him off. Namjoon's voice is hard, his face impassive as he glared at the younger.
Taehyung opened his mouth to come to his friend's defense but a hand on his shoulder stopped him. He looked at Jeongguk who slowly shook his head, eyes silently telling him to not butt in as well.
