Squeals of excitement and shouts of support filled the school's gymnasium as two of the campus' most promising basketball players battled each other inside the court.
Namjoon continued to dribble the ball while trying to look for a way passed Jeongguk who is currently towering over him. The younger's team is ahead by a point and if he doesn't score this one, their class just might lose.
And he can't allow that.
When he successfully managed to escape the younger muscle pig, he made a run to the ring and did a layup just in time to hear the sound of the P.E. teacher's whistle resonate around the whole gym.
Namjoon's classmates screamed upon realizing that their class just won, a number of the girls abandoning their seats to crowd around the legendary God Of Destruction in and outside the court, Kim Namjoon.
But much to their dismay, the guy merely gave them a wave before heading straight to the locker room, Jeongguk trailing behind him.
"Next time, I'll seriously win." The younger said, now catching up to walk beside Namjoon, who snorted upon hearing Jeongguk's declaration.
"Good luck with that." He said with a smirk.
"No Hyung, seriously, I'll win next time." Jeongguk insisted.
In other people's eyes, the two are rivals in the court. But the truth is, no matter how competitive Jeongguk is and no matter how much he hates to lose, he can never bring himself to hate the older with illegal dimples.
Not a lot of people are naturally good with the sport but still manages to stay kind and down to earth. Seeing how much the older just honestly enjoys playing without putting that much thought about the result, whether it's good or bad, made him respect the guy and put in mind that someday, he should be like that too.
Pushing the door of the boy's locker room open, Namjoon's eyes immediately landed on Seokjin who is currently sitting on one of the long wooden benches, an ice pack placed on his right ankle.
A smile immediately appeared on his lips, his dimples making an appearance.
"See you later." Namjoon said, patting Jeongguk in the back before heading straight to where Seokjin is, not even waiting for the younger to respond.
Seeing the all-too-familiar smile Namjoon only shows whenever Jin is around, reminded Jeongguk of himself whenever he sees a certain someone as well.
"We won." Namjoon announced with a smile as he plopped himself down on the spot beside the older.
Seokjin faced him with a frown. "You stink." He said, crinkling his nose to show his disgust. Namjoon scoffed.
"You sound like a girl. I just played so of course I'm sweaty."
Jin pointed to where the showers are located, ignoring what the other just said. "Go change."
"You are so not cute, you know that? Can't you at least congratulate me? I'm your best friend." Namjoon complained, a scowl on his face but stood nonetheless to get changed.
"Now you're the one who sounds like a girl. Seriously, you stink. Don't talk to me unless you're clean."
The younger could only mentally kick the injured Seokjin in his mind before grabbing his change of clothes from his locker and heading straight to where the showers are.
Jin took one last glance on Namjoon's disappearing back before returning his focus on his swollen ankle.
Damn. The thing seriously hurts. When he entered the court an hour ago to represent their class, getting injured never crossed his mind. However, when he collided with the opposing team's Kim Taehyung, his fall ended up more complicated than he thought, which now results him a hurting ankle.
"Jin-hyung? You okay?" Seokjin's head immediately shot up upon hearing a familiar husky voice.
"Taehyung." He acknowledged the younger with a scowl. The aforementioned hurriedly went to sit beside him with his head down, clear guilt written on his face for accidentally causing the older such pain.
"I'm sorry." The younger apologized. The older however, continued to ignore him, pretending to look at something much more interesting than the puppy eyes Taehyung is currently giving him.
Seeing that the older seriously has no plans on easily forgiving him, Tae sighed in defeat.
"I'll buy you food as an apology. I'll buy you meat. Lots of it." He said, mentally preparing himself for the estimated amount of money he'll have to spend on the school's Eat Jin 'cause if there's anything else the older loves besides his sugar gliders and Mario figures, it's food.
Seokjin only hummed in response, pretending to not even be interested about the offer of free food from the younger whilst mentally listing the number of dishes he'll probably order during dinner. He's definitely gonna make the famous son of V Corp. pay for bruising his precious self.
"Anyway, Jin-hyung, is it true that you hate gays?" The younger suddenly asked, making Seokjin immediately snap his head towards the guy.
"Why do you ask?" The older responded, confused. "Wait..." He trailed off, a sudden look of suspicion now appearing on his face. "You're not one are you?" He asked, voice filled with venom.
"What?! No way!" Taehyung refused, sounding too defensive, much to his dismay, and slightly flustered.
But of course, Jin was not able to notice such things anymore for his attention is now set on Namjoon who is fresh out of the shower and is only wrapped in a towel from his waist down, a smaller one draped on his left shoulder.
This moron.
"Dry your hair, you idiot. You'll catch a cold." Jin reprimanded, making the younger head towards their direction, immediately setting himself down on the spot beside his best friend.
"You dry it then." Namjoon casually said, making the forgotten Taehyung almost choke in the corner.
Watching the two reminded him of all the rumors about Jin. About how the pretty boy still gets hit on by the guys from the other classes despite being a very vocal homophobe. It has been said that Seokjin embarrasses any guy who confesses to him, telling them how disgusting they are and how they're making the planet more polluted.
But seeing him now with Namjoon, makes Taehyung wonder if those rumors were actually true. With the older drying Namjoon's hair while casually talking about walking home together and getting a bite or two on the way, there's no mistaking it.
The two looks just like a lovey-dovey couple! They definitely do!
Maybe the rumors weren't true after all. Maybe there's still a chance.
"Hey Taetae!" The younger snapped back to reality, eyes locked on Seokjin. "You owe me dinner right? Joonie's coming so you'll pay for him too." Jin gorgeously offered Taehyung a smile as the younger felt his heart drop.
He's seriously gonna be broke after tonight.
