"I hate to break up this romance session, but we have a practice to get to."
Gene poked his head in the door letting the two know they had to leave.
"Demon, bring vest."
The dog ran off in search of his vest.
"So why did you name him Demon?"
"I named him after Gene's stage character actually. Who can't love him like that?"
Gene puffed his chest out all proud. Alex pulled out a pair of jeans from the drawers in the bathroom. She slipped off the sweats and pulled the jeans on. They were tighter jeans that hugged her body very well.
"Grab some more clothes, you're going to be hanging out with us for a few days."
Gene grabbed a duffel bag from the top shelf of the linen closet in the bathroom and handed it to her. She immediately started packing it up with the necessities. She threw in a travel bag of dog food, treats, potty bags, toys and collapsible big bowls.
"Well then I'm ready. Demon, bring vest."
Alex yelled a bit louder this time, the dog brought back the vest.
"Aus."
The dog dropped the vest in her hand and she began putting it on him. Demon began tugging on her jeans as he fastened the buckles of the vest.
"Lass es"
She hooked a leash to the dog and picked up the duffel bag. Gene swooped in and took it away from her.
"I've got it German girl."
Alex rolled her eyes.
"Thank you."
"Wait."
"What Paul?"
"Alex, did you grab all your meds and that lotion stuff?"
"Yes Paul, let's go before Gene has a heart attack."
The three walked out of the house and got in the car. This time Alex sat in the back with her dog while they sped toward Madison Gardens.
"Here, you'll need this"
Paul handed her a VIP lanyard pass.
"Oh my gosh, Paul, wow this is amazing."
Alex admired the laminated pass.
"What's even more amazing is we had Ace reserve a spot up front for you, a small section up front big enough for both you and your dog."
"Oh Paul, this is absolutely not necessary."
"Hush, you've been through hell the past day, let us treat you."
Alex smiled and pet Demon. This was probably the most exciting thing she had ever done. Besides making the big move from Georgia to NYC.
"So why did you get into a fight with your mother?"
Gene looked back at her from the passenger seat.
"Oh shit, I completely forgot to give her a call. I'll call her back at the hotel. Well, I'm originally from Georgia and I just recently moved here to New York and my mother was telling me how bad of a choice it was. But I have a better career here than I did in Georgia so I feel like she was just over thinking about the whole thing. Oh, I need to check my voicemail back at my house after the concert if you don't mind."
"Not at all."
"Southern girl eh? I like my girls from the South."
Gene smiled at her.
