"You should sing to me." Gene lowered his sunglasses.

"What?" He gave her a puzzled look.

"I want you to sing to me, and not that violent demon voice you use. I want to hear you actually sing." Gene chuckled and picked up the guitar they had brought down. He figured it would have been good entertainment during the trip.

"Well I don't usually do this but I guess I will for you." Gene sat for a minute as he thought of what to play. "Now, I'm no Steve Perry, but I think I can pull this off." Gene began strumming some chords, getting ready to sing. He glanced up at Alex as she watched him strum each chord with ease.

Lying beside you
Here in the dark
Feeling your heart beat with mine
Softly you whisper
You're so sincere
How could our love be so blind?

We sailed on together
We drifted apart
And here you are
By my side

So now I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you'll see
What your love means to me
Open arms

Alex watched him as he focused on the guitar, his cheeks were a little red. She thought maybe it was from the setting sun beating down on them. Little did she know it was because he was playing from the heart and meant every word he sang to her.

Living without you
Living alone
This empty house seems so cold
Wanting to hold you
Wanting you near
How much I wanted you home

But now that you've come back
Turned night into day
I need you to stay

So now I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you'll see
What you're love means to me
Open arms

Gene strummed the last few strings and set the guitar down. He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. He brought up enough courage to look into those eyes of hers.

"So what did you think?" Alex had a big smile on her face.

"It was really good. I prefer that voice over the demon voice. It's not that I don't like the demon voice though! I just prefer your soft voice. It's so calming. Also, why don't you guys ever sing your own songs?" Gene shrugged and picked up the guitar again, strumming basic chords.

"I mean we sing them every time we get on stage, we get tired of singing the same songs over and over again." Alex smiled.

"Then sing me something I've never heard live before." She propped her elbow up on the chair and watched him. Gene sratched his neck and began strumming the beginning of one of his songs from the Dynasty album.

"Ever heard us play Charisma live?" Alex shook her head.

"Nope, I'm not even sure I've heard it on the radio." Gene smiled and continued playing the beginning of his song.

Is it my fortune or my fame
Is it my money or my name
Is it my personality
Or just my sexuality, yeah, yeah

What is my charisma
What is my charisma, yeah

Is it my body or my brain
Do I drive you insane, ha
Is it the power of my touch
Do you need me too much, too much, too much
