The blazing sun above you and Tibe was still shimmering in the sky, warming the surrounding areas. Your heartbeat felt like an awkward boom-box inside your chest.. and you wondered if Tiberius could tell you you nervous. A couple beads of sweat dripped down your shimmering forehead.."I've been feeling something lately." You began, trying your best not to show your emotion.
You smiled, feeling a laugh creeping up your throat. You gasp for a breath, slowly exhaling it back out. You take a couple more deep breaths..
"Sorry.. just a little shortness of breath." Your nervously admitted. You cleared your throat, as Tiberius inched closer to you.
"I've been feeling a weird emotion lately. It's an emotion for.. um.. ah.." you trailed off. Tiberius cocked his head.
You took a quick deep breath, metaphorically pushing yourself off the cliff.
"It's an emotion for you, Tiberius." You admitted, an aching pit forming in your stomach. "I.. I have.. feelings for you. Romantic feelings.."
You felt a strong anxiety pulling at your heart. Tears welled up in your eyes, but you blinked them away. You looked up at Tiberius.
"I don't know if you feel the same way, but.." you trailed off. You glanced down at the ground, shifting your brows. You felt something soft press against your cheek, as you turned your gaze to look back up at Tiberius.
One of his tendrils was held out to touch your cheek, while another wrapped snuggly around your torso. A soft blush formed on your cheeks.
"Do you feel the same way..?" You asked, smiling hopefully. You let your gaze shift, looking around the area.. trying to calm yourself.
Tiberius moves his head, looking down at yours. He nodded with a noticeable certainty that made you want to jump up and down with glee.
"I.. really?!" You exclaimed happily. Tiberius looked happy, despite a clear lack of facial features.
You jumped into his arms, his tendrils wrapping snugly around you. You snuggled in, sighing in relief.
"I care about you, Tibe." You said, getting comfortable. "I don't want anything happening to you."
Tiberius looked like he was listening. You grinned, pulling gently back from the hug. You looked upwards at him, gazing with sparkling eyes.
"C'mon.. we still have some exploring to do."
You reared your head towards the vast, empty forest. Cracking a smile, you gently caressed your cheeks. They felt flushed.. warm, like a nice summer's day. As a matter of fact, your entire body felt pleasantly warm.
You were amazed that Tiberius had felt the same way for you. You weren't sure if he was the kind of person to engage in an amorous relationship.. but your suspicions were wrong after all.
"You know, for you living here.. how much of this place have you seen?" You inquired.
Tiberius drew up two of his tendrils, moving them closer to one another until only a tiny space remained. You decided to put two and two together.
"So, not very much.." you added, looking a bit gloomy. You shifted your position, smiling again.
".. But that's alright!", you exclaimed. "It just means that there's more for us to find.." you placed your hands on your hips, and smiled at Tiberius.
"And the more we find, the more I'll learn about you."
You gently grabbed hold of one of Tiberius' tendrils, and began walking into the forest. Tiberius followed by your side.
Walking among them, you placed your hands on the bark of the trees, feeling your fingers gradually slip from tree to tree, as you continued.
Tiberius abruptly stopped. Turning in his direction, you saw him staring at a pile of large boulders. Near them was a tree, with some rather odd looking berries hanging from it.
"Are those safe to eat?" You asked cautiously.
Tiberius made a wet, gurgling sound, which you had recalled to mean "yes". You cracked your knuckles, and stretched your arms.
"I've got this." You said confidently.
You ran towards the pile, leaping onto the first boulder. You continued, until you reached a higher one. You jumped, barely skimming the top of it with your fingernails. You hoisted your self over, and stood back up.
You stopped to catch your breath for a quick moment, before reaching towards the tree you and Tibe had been looking at. You picked as many of the berries as you could fit in your pockets, and then climbed back down.
You leaped off of the natural structure, catching yourself on a tree branch. You let go, Landing softly on your heels.
The berries were a reddish-purple.. and they almost looked like choke cherries. But you trusted Tiberius, and so you assumed they were safe to digest.
You walked over to Tiberius, and smiled up at him.
"I guess we got dinner for tonight.." you said, panting. Tiberius seemed happy, placing a tendril on your left shoulder.
That's when you felt it. Euphoria.. as Tiberius looked at you. You recalled the first night you had spent with Tiberius.. not understanding his feelings. Not understanding his language, or anything at all.
But suddenly, you didn't need to. It was like a feeling that you couldn't put into words, but you understood perfectly in your head. It wasn't because Tiberius wasn't speaking,
But because he'd been speaking the entire time.
Every moment you sensed happiness, love, fear.. not knowing what it was.. it was him. Without even knowing it, he had made you fall in love with him. And with all of the confusion you were feeling, you were glad.
Grateful. Love isn't something you would forget, like fear or anger. It's the happiness you feel when you think of a friend, or a lover.
You looked up at Tiberius, your jaw open in shock.
"Tiberius, I.. I understand now." You said, stuttering. "The love I feel was given to me.. by you."
Tiberius was grateful you understood.. and you could feel running along your bones.
"And now, I want it to be like this forever." You said, smiling. "Tiberius.. I love you. I want you to know that."
Tiberius felt the same feeling of love you did. You balanced each other out, in a sort of way.
Tiberius and you looks at each other happily, as the distance between you two became smaller and smaller.
