(O/N): Original name

July 19th, 2004

You sat at the desk against the east side of your wall. Sitting on it was an old laptop you used to draw on MS paint. While not the most professional, or even good art program, it was all your parents would let you use.

On your DeviantArt account, you showed yourself as female. It's what you were, despite what physical body you had been given at birth. Looking in the mirror every day, you hated seeing the masculine shape of your body. You hated being called a "he". You hated how your parents didn't understand, and how your teachers didn't understand. Only the people on the other side of your screen understood, and that was enough to keep you going.

Suddenly, you heard a door open and then close from the floor below your bedroom. The kitchen. Your mother and father had just gotten home from their grocery shopping spree, and you groaned. Great. Just what you needed.

You logged out of DeviantArt and shut down your computer. You didn't need them seeing what you were drawing, or looking at on your computer. You grabbed your black hoodie with your zodiac sign on it and put it on. You grabbed a book from your shelf, took out the small bookmark you'd placed, and pretended to be reading.

You heard footsteps coming up the stairs as your mom opened the door.

"Hey (O/N). How's work on the book going?"

You didn't want to answer that question. At all. You knew you were trapped, pinned against a wall.. but you bit the bullet and lied to her.

"It's going good mom. I'm learning some stuff." You answered, forcing a smile.

She smiled back at you. You hated when she did that. You loved her, but you hated her. It didn't make sense to you, and you wanted to tear yourself apart over it.

"I love you, honey. I'll be in the living room if you need anything."

And with that, she kissed my forehead and closed my bedroom door behind me. With a sigh, I looked at the title of the book I was reading.

"Learning to love god's choices", By Holdan Makok. What a stupid fucking name, you'd say If someone mentioned it. Like, "Oh, hi, I'm Holdan Makok."

Absolutely ridiculous.

A/N: I'm really sorry for not getting anything out for like two months. Dear lord, I could go on forever about me failing my classes, and having to catch up on a shit ton of stuff.. but it's okay now. I'll try my best to fit updating into my schedule. Thank you for sticking with me :)

Toodles! <3
