Tiberius, Jack, and you continued walking until you reached the historic cave. The sky was clear and bright baby blue, with no clouds visible. Pine trees still surrounded the entrance to the cave, along with many bushes now growing berries. There was a flowery scent in the air, and it made you feel chipper, and upbeat. A light breeze swept jacks hair out place.
"So, this is the place?" Jack asked, almost whispering.
"Yeah!" You replied, a little too loudly. "This is the place where I found out Tibe's name, what he used to do for millennia, and even some interesting stuff about myself, and human history."
Jack looked a little overwhelmed. Tiberius noticed, and placed a tendril on Jacks shoulder. You could see the tight expression in his face loosen a little, with a sigh.
"Perhaps there's some SCP Documents in here? It'd be humorous to see 300 attempts to give Tiberius a file. 'SCP 25- got dammit it ate my papers again!' " Jack joked.
You chuckled. "I mean, he doesn't eat paper, but still."
Tiberius then placed a tendril on your shoulder, almost as if to say, "obviously". You blushed, and continued walking towards the cave entrance.
It was still dark, even since the last time you'd been in there. Tiberius lead the way, guiding the two of you through the narrow and rough turns.
As you reached the end of the tunnel, you saw a light. You remembered it to be from several large holes in the walls that often let in a small breeze. You smiled. Nostalgically remembering when you'd first come here, you almost lost sight of what you went there to do.
"You said you were looking for SCP Documents?" You asked.
Jack looked in your direction.
"Actually, that was more of a joke. I wanted to read some stuff that was written about Tiberius, to see if I could potentially get him a reclassification."
You cocked your head in visible confusion.
"Reclassification? What do you mean, exactly?" You questioned.
Jack sighed. You could tell he was annoyed, but you pursued anyway.
"He's a keter class SCP, based on how difficult he is to contain. However, if I can prove he's beneficial to the foundation, and humanity in general, I could reclassify him as Thaumial."
You saw Tiberius' head perk up almost immediately. It was that word; 'Thaumial'.. what what did that mean?
You wanted to ask more questions, but Jack was looking more annoyed with you by the second, so you decided to stay quiet.
You spoke, only in an effort to seem useful.
"The written stuff about Tiberius is over here."
You led Jack into the top left corner of the room, where a stack of papers laid atop of one another, attached by an elastic band. He smiled, and bent down to begin reading through them.
You walked over to Tiberius. With a blushy smile, you gave him a kiss where his cheek would be. You gave him a hug, and then stood beside him.
Maybe it'd be a while before you finally tell him that you love him. "There's no rush," you thought. "I have all the time in the world." However, you began to feel as though time itself was on some sort of shortage.
You sat down on the stone floor, tucking your knees up to your face. There was a tension in the air that felt off. Like as though Jack was irritated with you and Tiberius. Subtle glares in your direction, and the sharpness in his voice made you a little bit suspicious. A feeling of uncertainty and sadness made you feel small in comparison to everything around you.
"I can't find anything." Jack said, standing back up.
"What do you mean?" You asked. "You couldn't find any reason to reclassify him?"
"Correct." Jack answered. "It's not that he's dangerous, or harmful in any way; the foundation simply wants to keep things normal."
"Normal?" You asked. "Normal is only what we're used to. Most of the anomalies you keep aren't dangerous in the slightest. They're people, just like you and me."
Jack smiled sadly.
"I know, (Y/N). I'm an anomalous object too.."
You looked at the ground, trying to fight the urge to shake him out of his mental state. You knew he wasn't thinking straight.
You put your hands on his shoulders, and lean in as if to tell him a dark secret, or give him some good advice.
"Maybe you're fighting the wrong war, Jack. Don't you feel trapped?"
Jack looked down at the ground, as if contemplating. You continued trying to break him.
"Doesn't it feel unfair? Inhumane?" You questioned.
Jack walked away, crossing his arms. Despite knowing he was upset, you kept pushing. You wouldn't stop. You couldn't stop.
"You can step up. Fight for your freedom!"
You took a few steps toward him. With clenched fists, you stared him down.
Tiberius walked by your side. You knew he felt the same way. Trapped, lonely, and tortured.. you were arguing for him. For Jack, and for everyone else who didn't have a voice to stand up for themselves.
"I can't save you! So why don't you step up and save yourself?"
Jack looked at the ground, with shaking fists. Just before you could think you went too far, he slammed his foot into the ground and yelled in your direction.
"BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW, (Y/N)!"
The cave went absolutely silent. Not a single breath could be heard from either you or Jack. Tiberius looked towards you, in a knowing sort of way.. but you didn't know why.
"I-I'm, sorry.." Jack spoke up again.
A subtle crackling noise was heard just above your heads, barely enough to grab your attention at all. Looking around you, you saw large cracks travelling up the walls and on the ceiling. Small rocks came loose, and fell on a couple separate pieces of paper.
Suddenly, the ceiling came crashing down. You took a sharp breath before ducking down, and throwing out your hands defensively. Your whole body feels heavy when you close your eyes. Are you trapped underneath the rubble? Are Jack and Tiberius okay?!
Your mind races, as you're almost too scared to even open your eyes. With a quick breath outwards, you open them nonetheless.
The Debris from the ceiling was floating in mid air. A misty red glow around it, you thought maybe it was a power you didn't know Tiberius had... Before looking down at your hands, that is.
A red glow pulsed from your clenched fists. It felt as though you were holding something heavy inside of your hands. With a swing, and a tight grip, you throw the rocks over the wall, by a nearby tree.
This time, without the use of your hands, you made an empty book float with your mind. Jack and Tiberius looked stunned, just as much as you were in that moment. You let the book fall, as you stumbled backwards onto the ground.
Your nose began to bleed, along with your mouth. As you pushed yourself upwards off the ground, you looked up at Tiberius and Jack.
"And.. I'm an anomalous object, too." You said.
