Chapter 10 - Hello Miss Dylan, my name is Jacob Evans
***
I stared at him in complete shock. There must be some kind of misunderstanding, right?
"Jacob," I forced a giggle."Today isn't April Fool's Day."
He sighed and turned his head to the floor. I waited for him to begin again and tears prickled my eyes.
Jacob looked up and a tear scrolled down my cheek. He cupped my face and wiped away the tear with his thumb.
"Jacob, it's alright, okay?" My voice cracked.
"It's not!"he shouted. I hugged him tightly and hushed him, patted on his back lightly.
He stopped shouting but his fists are still clenched. I buried my head into his shoulder.
"Please," I said.
He let out a heavy sigh and said,"I'll figure it out, okay? I'm going to fix this."
"Yes, yes you will," I pulled away and put on my best fake smile.
"C'mon, you're already late for class."
"Let's go then," I held his hand and walked to class with a bright smile.
It's hard to pretend everything's okay when it's not, but for Jacob, anything.

"Sweetie, we need you to get into Harvard," my mother sighed, shaking her head.
"But mom, Harvard doesn't offer me a scholarship,"I fight back.
"Hazel, remember what I said, if you don't succeed-"
"Try, try again,"I finished off for her.
I groan in frustration. Moms are always stubborn. I secretly sent a death glare behind her back before running up the stairs.
"Don't be rude to your mother." My dad muttered, loud enough to hear.
I ignored his comment and went inside my room.
I slammed the door loud enough for both of them to hear.
"Arghhhhhhhhhh!"I screamed. Why is everything getting in my way? I ran my fingers through my hair. I buried my head inside the pillow and screamed some more. My vision was blurry when I met the light again.
I got up slowly and picked up some pajamas, reluctantly and really mad, I entered the bathroom.
I threw all my clothes inside the washing basket and got into shower. I turned the tap on and the steaming hot water met my skin at instant. I felt really comfortable and stayed in the shower for a pretty long time. At least I get to leave everything behind for a while.
I shut the tap off and got out of the bath, got dressed and snuggled to bed at once. Of course there are a lot of problems rushing into my life, but I don't want to think about them now.
Just not now.

"Sugar!" Jacob called from distant.
I was about to turn around when I remembered about Jashley, you know, their couple name. Ashley had spread the news they are engaged to every single person in school and explained the breakup was just a surprise for the whole school party.
I pretend I didn't hear him and continue walking, gradually pacing faster.
"Hazel?" I felt him panting just behind my neck.
