-Falls-

-Eleanor-

I pull my shirt over my head and step out of Lillian's room. Walking down the hall, my eyes land on Nightly, who was talking to someone.
I pick up my pace slightly hoping I can avoid him, but his gaze shifts to me, causing me to curse under my breath as I advert my gaze.
"How are they?" He questions, stepping away from the counter.
"They're fine..." I step out of the hall and my eyes land on Alex.
I dart my eyes between the two, taking a slightly longer look at Alex, giving a silent message. He shakes his head.
I turn to Nightly again.
"Are they better than before?" I shrug, and he sighs, casting a quick glance at Alex.
I raise my eyebrow at the pair before squinting and walking towards the exit.
Those two are acting too weird for me to handle right now.
I push open the door and cringe slightly at my hurt arm, almost immediately a hand appears to my right and pushes the door open for me. I turn my gaze and see Nightly, I cringe away slightly and hurry out the door. Turning around, I see Alex glance quickly at Nightly.
"Okay, what is going on between you two? Alex, what did you do?"
"Me!? Why would I do anything!"
"You always do something," I narrow my eyes at him.
"Don't even look at me with that accusing look! I don't even know what you're talking about!"
"There's a weird aura around you two, and you keep looking at each other!"
They glance between themselves.
"See! Like that!"
"I don't know what you're talking about Eleanor," my eyes dart away from Alex and land on Nightly.
"I don't trust either of you. You're too suspicious, Alex," I look back to him, causing him to put his hands up in surrender. "I have no clue what you're talking about." I growl lowly at him before turning on my heel and striding towards the woods.
I hear muttering behind me before quick footsteps follow mine.
I don't turn around to look and see who is following me, I couldn't care less.
It's probably Alex. Ashley says, sounding slightly disappointed.
Probably, I don't know if Nightly would be able to follow me...
I trail off... I don't think he would.
I let out a quick breath before quickly darting behind a tree.
I shift into my wolf, causing Asheky to jump around excitedly in my head.
Can I take control?
Only if you promise not to do anything.
She nods her head. Promise.
I allow her to take control and relax as she darts away from the tree.

"Happy birthday mutt," my head darts up, meeting the gaze of Alpha, who has a sinister grin.
"What did I say about looking me in the eyes?" I drop my gaze, hearing him stride towards me.
He kneels down to me and I feel his hand grab my chin, forcing my head to face him.
"Are you ready for your present?"

It was hard for me to know exactly when my birthday was in there. I never knew how close it was, or how far. But I always knew the exact day. He would always let me know, let me suffer.
He used it against me, what that day meant, its engraved into my head.
That day is not my birthday, it is the day that my whole pack was slaughtered while I stood defenseless.

"Ah, it's your favorite day." His voice fills the quiet cell halls. "You get a gift." My eyes avoid his body, instead looking behind him.
"Aren't you excited?" He questions, just as my eyes lock with green ones.
"I said," anger fills his voice. "Aren't you excited?" I nod my head, knowing what will happen if I tell him I'm not.

I watch from the sidelines as trees blur on our sides, Ashley's focus on what's in front of us.

I know my family wouldn't want this. They would want me happy... my pack would want me happy... but how can I be?

Eleanor! Ashley's worried voice fills my head.
Are you okay? I've been calling your name.
Oh, yeah I'm uh.. I'm fine.
You can have control back... distract yourself.
I nod to her as I'm jolted into control. I stagger slightly and nearly fall as I get comfortable again, picking my speed back up as I dart between trees.
I hear the noise water and make a sharp turn, heading towards the noise.
I run into a clearly and slam my breaks on, falling to a stop, my nose almost landing in water.
I let out a huff of air as I stand fully again, my eyes trail up and I marvel at the sight of a waterfall flowing into a gorgeous pond, the light reflecting the setting sun beautifully.
I haven't water like this in so long.
Come on! Let's get in!
Wait!
I let my guard down for only a moment, but Ashley takes control and flings us into the water, swimming away from the edge and paddling around.
