Since I told my mother about the detention and my first day of school, I got quite a scolding from her. So here I am, cleaning up the kitchen after my mother made pastries for our neighbors. There's that and I'm grounded for a week without my laptop.
Turns out that the neighbors were a nice couple that welcomed us into the neighborhood. Basically, they welcomed my family as soon as they found out that we are their new neighbors. They told my family that they have a son that's around my age and we go to the same school.
At least the neighbors invited my mom over next door to talk. I am so lucky that I don't have to be watched over by my mother. Same with Dad since he's still at work.
Honestly, I wondered what they're talking about next door. Probably gossip about the weather or how the move was. Maybe even about current events aka news and such. As long as it gets my mother out of the house, it's fine with me.
There was a knock on the front door just as I finished cleaning. My parents both have keys to the house so it couldn't be them.
Letting out a tired sigh, I cautiously walk to the front door. The front door of our house is wood with a small, round peephole in the middle. I look through the peephole, only to see you-know-who at my doorstep; Eric (Rude) Molloy. 'How the hell does he know where I live?!' The thought quickly went through my mind. I see him knock on my door once more. He seemed to have an almost nonchalant smile on his face for some reason.
I was deciding on opening the door or not. I was panicking a bit on the inside, yet I had a poker face. Hesitant, I unlocked the door yet didn't open it. I looked through the peephole to see what he would do. He didn't make any moves towards the doorknob yet he seemed to hear the door unlocking.
Slowly, I opened the door with the poker face expression. His expression changed to one of surprise-maybe even disbelief before looking like his own type of poker face.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He asks me, irritation laced in his monotone voice. "I could ask you the same thing. Seeing as you're on the doorstep of where I live, I suggest you to leave or I'll call the cops" I say to him, annoyed at him.
"I'm just here to say hello to the new neighbor. I didn't expect the newbie to be the new neighbor." He tells me with a bit of a sly smile.
'May I be struck by a bolt of lightning than to ever call him a neighbor' I thought with an annoyed frown on my face.
"No way" I say in disbelief.
"Yes way Newbie" he responded, irritation laced his monotonous voice.
