When the last school bell rang, I left the classroom.
As I remember that there is rat in my locker, I head to the direction that my locker is at. I decided that I'd take the little critter home with me.
When I get home then I could keep it as a pet instead of getting rid of it. That's if I can convince my mother and father.
As I near my locker, I see Eric, aka dumbass, standing there beside it. How the hell does he even know where my locker is? I approach my locker, ignoring his presence.
"You going to ignore me all day Newbie?" I could hear him say without looking at him. His tone sounded monotonous as usual.
However, there seemed to be a hint of irritation laced in his voice. I pay no attention to him as I open my locker door.
Thankfully, the rat was still in my locker. It's beady, little eyes still held a look of fear. I see that it drank some of the water and ate a little bit of food when I was away. I pitied the little critter, but it will have a good home soon if I can get a cage for it today.
Which means that I'm skipping the bus as I don't want other students killing it. I'd rather have a live rat as a pet than for someone to kill it or harm it severely.
Yet that leads to... getting a ride to a pet store. I don't know anyone from this school who can drive me to a pet store. Nonetheless, I was not going to let my mother find out that I found a rat in my locker.
Eventually that would lead me to asking Eric for a ride to a pet store. As much as I dislike the guy, he is my only option at this point.
I carefully pick up the rat. I make sure that the rat can't escape, but not harmed. It's ears move react to the sounds around it.
Letting out a sigh, I look Eric straight in the eye. "I need a ride to a pet store" I say to him. I made my decision. Lets hope that I don't regret it.
He looked confused or maybe he was feigning his confusion. I showed him the rat that I'm holding carefully.
"Alright" He said monotonously with a shrug. I had a sense of hope on the inside that the guy is possibly a good person. What he said next made that hope quickly disappear.
"I'll take you to the pet store. But... you have to go on a date with me."
