Leslie's POV
Its 12:31am and I open up my window. There's this little ladder at the side of my window that I've discovered a few years ago. So I climbed up. Its hidden behind a tree so nobody knows about this.
Once I ran out of steps, I carefully get on the roof. I rarely do this because I always sleep early. But tonight or morning i feel more healthy than ever!
Right here on the roof, i have a chair, blankets, pillow, everything essential. I look up at the sky. Darkness was fading and the bright sun was rising. It was such a beautiful sight that I cursed myself for not bringing any paper and pencils to draw it. So instead, i took out my camera and took a picture of it.
I'll draw it later i thought to myself
I spent my time up there rading a chapter book called, "Wonder" by John Green. And its actually a pretty good book. I mean, two pages is one Chapter! At 1:47am i was getting tired and decided to head off.
While climbing down the stairs, i had lost all of my energy my strength! I tried hard to grab on the bars, I was thinking of calling for help but just then, i felt myself falling.
With a loud thud, I fell back on my side. I felt a painful sting all around my body. I couldn't get up, everything hurted.
"Urgh!" I hissed in frustration. I let my body lay down for a bit. So this is it. I'm gonna die.
But like this?
At least let me die on a comfy bed i guess. Oh god i mentally said looking up (since im already on the ground) not now.
"Leslie!" someone yelled in a frightened voice. I recognised that voice.
I tilted my head and looked sideways to see that my mom was running up to me from her car. She barely came back from work. She's a nurse, she's always busy.
"oh hey mom" i say casually "what's up? How was work?"
She gave me a disapproving look when i looked at her. Mom kneeled down beside me and slowly asked me "What really concerse me is what are you doing here? You should be asleep"
"Well as you can see," I start "i am lying down on the lawn but," I say more seriously "as you cannot feel is that I fell and it stings and i can't move, everything hurts mom. Badly"
"How did you get here in the first place!" she asks as she lifts me up and opens the front door and goes upstairs.
I tried of thinking of something, I couldn't tell her that I was on the roof because A. its a secret B. she'll think its too dangerous and C. if i do tell her, she might as well lock my window until i die.
"I couldn't sleep so i went outside for some fresh air" I responded as she neatly put me to bed. She put the covers on top of me and made sure I was comfortable. To be honest, I love it when she does this, she's never around so i appreciate everything she does
I love my mom. With her shiny, curly black hair tied up into a nice bun. Her grey brownish eyes and her soft loving voice, I've always wondered if she'd get married again. Mom should be living happy with another man beside her. I'm sure dad wouldn't mind at all
"Leslie... Leslie, Leslie..." she says
I turned my attention back to her. She was talking to me. "Leslie," she says "I asked you if you need anything?"
"No mom, you can go to sleep. Thanks for bringing me up here"
"Alright," she says as she kisses me in the forehead "now go to sleep and i mean it"
I nodded my head and said goodnight to her. As i watched her closing the door, I once again cursed myself.
"Urgh" I sighed in a low voice "I forgot the camera"
