Rory awakes with a start. As soon as the blackness recedes and she can finally see again, her eyes snap open. She breathes heavily, gasping for breath as she tries to force oxygen back into her lungs. She coughs so violently she feels like she's about to cough up one of her lungs. Once her breathing has calmed down she starts to sit up and looks around her, trying to remember what's happening.
Rory lets out a gasp, only this time, it's not because her brain is trying to force some air inside of her. Her heart starts to beat even faster than it already is as she remembers exactly what happens. She remembers the hallucination she had and that, even though she wanted it to be, Bellamy leaving was not part of it. She remembers finally breaking out of it, only to hear her father's voice turn into Dax's as he strangled her. She remembers the last words she heard before she passed out: Bellamy's the one I have to kill.
She doesn't stop to think or plan out what she's about to do. Rory clambers to her feet, and rushes towards the stairs that lead to the surface. She grabs a discarded rifle on her way, hoping it has a bullet inside. Once she gets out of the bunker she tries to look for some sign of Bellamy, any sign that will show her where he is. She leans over, panting slightly. As soon as she can breathe again she stands up, Rory's eyes dart around her trying to see where he walked to. Just as she's about to scream in frustration she sees a trail of broken branches and lets out a sigh of relief.
Holding the gun tightly in her hands, she starts to run down the trail she found. As she goes further down she starts to hear a voice, a very familiar voice. Bellamy, Rory thinks coming to a halt as she sees him lying on the floor.
"Nothing personal." Dax says, loading his gun and aiming it at Bellamy's head. Bellamy snaps out of his hallucination just as the trigger to the gun clicks. Luckily for Bellamy, Dax had grabbed a gun that had a dud bullet in.
As Rory quietly walks into the clearing and stands behind Dax, she sees Bellamy reach out. He tries to grab something but his hand comes back empty. By the shape of his grip, Rory thinks he must have hallucinated a gun.
"Drop the gun, Dax." Rory calls out.
Dax spins around, his focus no longer on Bellamy as the boy comes round from the hallucination. He locks his gun onto Rory. "Should've stayed down there, Rory. I tried not to kill you."
"Oh, how considerate of you." Rory mutters, rolling her eyes at him.
"But here you are," Dax continues, "and Shumway said no witnesses."
"Shumway?" Rory asks, looking over her gun and raising her eyebrows. "He's making you do this?"
"Walk away now, and I won't kill you."
Rory shakes her head and refocuses her gun. "You know I can't do that. You know I'm not the kind of person that walks away, especially when there's a Blake in the vicinity." Rory says, her eyes move to try to catch a glimpse of Bellamy behind Dax. She sees him moving slightly and relief floods through her. "Now, I don't like it when people don't do as I say and I told you to drop the goddamn gun. So, Dax, drop the goddamn gun."
