Chapter XI •

I was woken up by my alarm. I always forget to stop it. I went in the bathroom to do my routine. After that I went down. I really don't want them to ask me more questions about Minki. The good thing in this situation is that Minki can come down. She doesn't have to hide anymore. Oh fuck she has to. When they saw her she wore makeup. If they see her without makeup, they'll notice she's the missing patient. I have to tell her. I don't want to wake her up so I'll write on a paper. Good. Now I can go down.
"Good morning!" I said as I went in the kitchen. Dad wasn't there...Weird.
"Good morning!" Said my mom smiling.
"Where's dad?"
"His boss called him. He had to leave earlier."
I nodded and started eating. Questions about dad came in my mind. What if the boss will fire him because Minki is missing? I am afraid...This time I am afraid for my dad. My thoughts were interrupted by my mom.
"Good morning sweetheart!" I turned around. Minki was beautiful like always...
"Good morning!" She said and sited next to me.
"I like your kitchen." She whispered to me. I started laughing.
"What's so funny? Tell me I want to laugh too."
"Sorry mom, it's between us."
"Jonghyun you are so mean. Oh shit I'll be late for work! Bye!"
"Bye mom!"
"I like your mom."
"You say that because you only saw her good side. But she has a bad one too. You won't like her anymore if you see the bad side."
"Shut up you liar!"
"Bad girl!"
"Kinky asshole!"
"Stupid bitch!"
"Idiot!"
"What the fuck?!"
"Oh good morning grandma. It's nothing...We do this every morning."
"You two are weird."
"Not weirder than you!" Minki said and winked.
"I didn't know you can do that girl!"
"And I didn't know you can talk like that woman!"
After staying that they started laughing. It is a bit weird...
"Jonghyun you better keep this girl she's special." And she winked. Why is everyone winking? I gave her a look like 'shut up' and I continued eating.
"Now that your parents know about me, I can see your living room. And all your house."
"It's nothing much."
"You live in a fucking mansion! I was living in a house with two rooms, one kitchen and you couldn't call the bathroom a bathroom! And we were 6 in the house! Try to live like that..."
"God awful!"
"Eh it was better that the hospital's room."
"I can imagine."
"I'll go to buy some stuff. Do you want something?"
"Chocolate. A lot of chocolate."
"Ok Jonghyun...And you Minki?"
"I don't know...Surprise me."
"Ok...Bye" And she left. I am alone with Minki in all the house...It feels a bit weird. I guess I'll get used with it.
"Hey fucker are you poisoned or what?"
"What?"
"Seriously, you look like a zombie. And stop staring it is weird."
"I love when you act like that...What did I just said?!"
"A bullshit but I liked it, thanks. See you in the living room."
Oh my fucking God...What have I just said?! I am insane or what?! I washed the dishes and I went in the living room. Minki was looking at my baby pictures laughing. This is so embarrassing!
"What are you doing?" I said and she jumped a little.
"You were so little and I don't know. Look at you! Is that a nude?!" She said pointing at a picture which was a bit covered. I realized that it truly was a nude with me. It was made when I was 4 years old.
"Don't look at it please..."
"You can't stop me!"
"Really? Want to bet?" And I started tickling her.
"Let me go fucker! You are weird! Stop I can't breathe because of the laughter!"
"Shut up you like it!"
"No I don't! Jonghyun!"
Her laugh was so beautiful. I suddenly stopped and felt pain.
"You really stepped on my foot?!"
"Yeah and I don't regret it. Come and chase me shitty princess!"
"You just called me a princess?! I'll chase you and I'll force you to eat the apple's peel!"
"Eww!"
I started running after her. She's fast!
"Minki where are you?" I said in a weird voice that I don't think I can make again. She hides very well.
"Seriously where are you? Were you a winner at hide and seek? Minki?"
"Behind you fucker." She whispered in my year.
"AAAH WHAT THE HECK?!" I screamed. I grabbed her hand.
"I got you." I said and smirked.
"Really?" She said and bite my finger.
"Auch! What the fuck?!"
"It's called surviving!" She said and started running again.
"Minki!!" I screamed annoyed. Actually I like to play such games with her. I started running after her. When I was down she stopped. She was looking at the door.
"What happened?" I said worried.
"Mom come. She wants me to go back home."
"Well...Tell her you don't want to go back home."
"She isn't listening to me."
"Ok...Then I'll talk with her." I approached the door. If someone told me that I'll talk with a door I'd laugh in their face but look at me now.
"Hello! I am Minki's friend, Jonghyun...I want you to leave. Minki isn't coming with you! I won't let her! Now leave, it's my house!"
"She won't leave Jonghyun..."
"Kids..."
Shit dad is here!
"Why were you two talking with the door?"
"Um..."
"We were playing a game! It's called truth or dare. And I dared Jonghyun to talk with the door."
God Minki saved us with her skills of lying again.
"How wonderful!" He said smiling.
"My boss is calling...again...I have to pick up, then you tell me what you have done all day." And he went outside to talk. We went in the living room. Minki was...sad? But why? She was so happy!
"Are you ok?" I asked her.
"Not really...Your dad has trouble with his boss because of me...It's all my fault..."
"No, no, no! If it's someone's fault then it's mine! I told you to come to stay with me. And trust me...I don't regret it!"
"Thank you Jonghyun."
She hugged me. I could stay with her like that forever. Then I realized she cried few seconds ago.
"Minki..."
"Yes?"
"Look at me..."
"What happened?"
"Ah fuck grandma and her bad quality makeup! You have to do your makeup again."
"And you have to buy me more qualitative makeup."
"That's right. We will go tomorrow now hurry up!"
I decided to go with her because I don't want to stay alone in the living room. I looked out of the window and dad wasn't there. I guess he went at work again. Which is good.
"JONGHYUN WHAT IS THIS?!"
That was dad...And he was screaming...And Minki was waiting for me in front of the stairs...Fuck! God tell me it's not what I think it is!
"Yes..."
"Explain!" He was pointing at Minki. SHIT! FUCK! I CAN'T BELIEVE!
"What am I supposed to explain?" Good job myself! Now you made him angrier.
"She isn't your girlfriend right? And you weren't talking with the door because of a game! And she's not a girl!"
"What? I don't know what are you talking about." I acted like I don't know anything. Maybe he'll think Minki is just looking like the runaway patient...
"Oh you don't know...Let me tell you then...You were in the forbidden area of the hospital and you fucking stole a patient! Then you stole pills too! If he had a easier to control illness I wouldn't make this scandal BUT HE'S A SCHIZOPHRENIC!"
"First of all, if she wants to be a girl she's a girl. Secondly...I managed to keep her illness under control."
"YOU CAN'T KEEP THIS ILLNESS UNDER CONTROL JONGHYUN!"
"HAVE YOU HEARD SOMETHING THIS MONTHS?! NO! DID YOU SEE HER WALKING AROUND THE HOUSE THIS MONTHS?! NO! THAT'S BECAUSE I MANAGED TO CONTROL HER!"
"HE'S A BOY!"
"SHE'S WHATEVER SHE WANTS TO BE! I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR JOB! I'LL PROTECT HER AT ALL COSTS! YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE YOUR PERFECTLY SPOILED SON FELL IN LOVE WITH A FUCKING PRETTY SCHIZOPHRENIC WOMAN!" Wow I said it. For few seconds it was quiet. Dad was about to hit me. I saw it in his eyes. But he kept his anger under control.
"Go in your room!" Dad broke the silence.
"Minki come on." I said and grabbed her hand.
"He isn't coming."
"She is. All my life I did what you wanted me to do. I am 21, I can do whatever I want. And if I want to keep her, I'll keep her."
"That's illegal you know?"
"I don't give a fuck!"
"Let her go...Or I'll hurt you."
"Come on...Hurt me...I won't leave her." He left after I said that. I feel like he understood.
"Jonghyun..."
"It will be ok...Trust me. I won't leave you."
"Thank you. So much...For everything." We hugged each other. To be honest I am a bit afraid. Dad left without saying anything.
"Jonghyun?"
"Yes?"
"It is true? You...love me?" We stopped hugging each other when she said that.
"I...Yes it is true..." Now she won't talk with me anymore. Shit...I messed things up.
"If I wasn't that scared of what is going to happen I would kiss you. I am afraid of your dad."
"Don't be...Let's go up." She grabbed my hand and we went in my room. We were sitting on the bed and Minki fell asleep. A idea popped in my head. I can buy a house! Not a big one but a house! And I could stay with Minki there. But I have to find a cheap house in another country. We could move in another city but if dad calls the police they'll find us. So it's easier to move in another country. Like Spain! Somewhere around the beach. That's a good idea. I searched and surprisingly I found one. I heard something down. I closed my laptop and woke Minki up.
"What if your dad hired a mafia boss?"
"No Minki, dad didn't hire a mafia boss. Chill."
It's not a mafia boss but it can be the police. Someone was approaching my room. I hear the floor cracking. Me and Minki were waiting for the person to open the door. We were scared. But we were more sad. I think we both realized that our adventure came to an end. I can't take her back because they'll surely keep an eye on Minki's area more and she can't escape because they'll probably lock her door. That's it...The door started to open. A police woman was in my room now.
"He is the schizophrenic man right?"
She pointed at Minki. I looked at her. She was about to cry. I nodded telling the police woman that she's the patient. I was about to cry too.
"Let her go. She's coming back in the hospital."
Sadly I can't do anything. It's the police and if I say no they'll probably going to put me in the jail. What I did is rape...But every second that I spent with this girl was beautiful...I got up of the bed and I grabbed Minki's hand. She was looking at me so sad.
"Can I talk with her first?"
"Okay, I'll wait outside."
As soon as the police woman close the door I felt a bit relaxed. Her presence made me anxious but now it's fine...Not really, I am going to leave Minki...
"Don't leave me!" She said and started crying. This broke my heart.
"We don't have other choice Minki..."
"You promised me you won't leave me!"
I realized that she's right...I promised her that I won't leave her. But I think I'll break my promise.
"Everyone left...Every single person that I loved, left! My grandparents, my dad. Even my mom! Now you? I can't bear this anymore! Please don't give up on saving me..."
Her words gave me enough courage to do something.
"Stop crying and look at me. You will go back in the hospital and I'll get you back! And we'll move in Spain! Somewhere near the beach and we will be happy. Don't worry Minki...I won't break my promise." After I finished she hugged me tight. The police woman came again in the room.
"Have you finished?" She said annoyed. We nodded and she took Minki's hand. I watched the police woman putting her in the police car and then leaving. I laid in my bed and started crying. I will miss her so much. I hate dad. At least he could understand what I feel. What if she was a schizophrenic? I managed to control her. But to be honest I am so afraid. What are they going to do to Minki? Will they hurt her? I can't let her there...I'll do my best and I'll get her. She'll be with me again one day.
