After that night, I avoided him by any cause. I left home before he would come back and would only come back home to change my clothes.
Finally, the day that I was waiting for, my graduation and also the day that I would escape from my dad. I have been saving up some money from my part-time-jobs.
I arrived school and saw that everyone was with their families. I caught Mrs Seville staring at me. And when she noticed that i was staring back at her, she smiled and I looked away.
"Are you alone?" I turn around to find Mrs Seville grinning at me.
"Yes." I replied shortly.
"Where's your father, Tamara?" She asked again.
"He's not coming."
"Why not?" well now she's annoying me.
"I dont know!" I replied angrily.
I looked away and after sometime, I look back to find her gone. I sighed in relief. No more questions. I find her talking among the teachers.
When it was time to get on the stage to get our high school diploma certificate, I saw my dad talking to Mrs Seville. He is sober. Why is he here? I thought to myself.
"Tamara Blake," I snapped out of my thoughts and got up on the stage.
I shake hands with Mr Callaway, our principle, "Congratulations, Ms Blake!" I smiled and said "Thank you."
After everyone was called and the valedictorian started her speech, I zoned out and think again about my plan to escape. I snapped back to reality and heard the words.
"Congratulations, Class of 2014!"
When everyone was throwing their graduation hat on the air, I ran and didnt look back.
