"Oh God, oh God, oh God," was all I could think or say. 5 minutes till show time. I could hear the crowd; most were cheering "Black Veil Brides!" but some were cheering "Black Rose!" since we were on first. "Come on Alaina, you can do this. Calm yourself, you've played concerts before," I said to myself. Then I thought, "yeah, but not one this big and not one with Black Veil Brides." I told myself to shut up.
2 minutes now. We're waiting backstage for our cue. Mikey looks just as nervous, but Sarah and Trevor are both laughing. Probably at me and Mikey. Trevor had been on edge all day, but now he seemed fine.
Hmm. Weird.
"Good luck, Alaina," A voice said from behind me. I looked back, startled, and then relaxed. It was Andy. Gosh, everytime I saw him, I lost my train of thought. I needed to stop doing that.
"Um, thanks, you too," I stammered out. Then he smiled at me and walked over to the couch facing the stage. Great, he was going to be watching us the whole time.
He crossed his long legs, and I realized how tall he actually was. Which is very, very tall. I couldn't stop staring until, of course, I heard that there was 30 seconds until we were on stage. I took a deep breath and looked away, but caught a glimpse of someone looking at me from behind the curtain.
Jinxx.
I blushed. It was kind of weird but cute that he kept looking at me.
Just then, we were told to get out on stage. I strummed the first note, and the show began.
JINXX'S POV
I don't know why I can't stop looking at her. She's not extremely different or exotic or anything. She was just another person. But I just couldn't stop staring at her.
Her long black and red hair was shiny and straight, and I liked that she wore a shirt with my band on it to play a show. It was cute. Before she walked on the stage, she caught me looking at her. I felt kind of embarrassed, but I didn't really care.
She looked cute when she was nervous. She would chew on her lip and she kept looking around at everything. But then Andy came up behind her and whispered something in her ear. She blushed and turned around and then she stared at him until it was time for her to go on stage. I sighed. Of course she liked Andy. Who didn't? Then she saw me, and she blushed. Then I looked away and blushed also.
Why?
I couldn't figure it out. I had met many attractive girls throughout this whole experience and I had never been like this before. What was so special about this girl, Alaina?
I watched them play their show. She was extremely talented. I don't think she really noticed how talented she was. She kept holding back her full potential. I wanted to tell her to just not be afraid, but she wouldn't be able to hear me. I sighed. Then Ashley showed up right next to me.
"Whatcha looking at?" he asked, then he noticed who I was looking at. Or, so I had thought. "Oh. Yeah, that Sarah girl is something."
"I'm not looking at Sarah, stupid," I said.
"Alaina, then? Yeah, she's pretty, too. But I think she has a thing for Andy. Just like every other girl does," he said, and then he turned and walked off. I dropped my gaze and turned around. I sat down next to Andy on the couch and sighed.
"What's wrong, dude?" he asked.
"Uh, nothing," I said, trying not to make it too obvious.
"I don't believe you. Just tell me."
"Well.. I don't really know. I just feel... weird," I said as I looked at him. He had his thinking face on. So I let him think for a bit and then he finally said something.
"You like Alaina? I've seen you watching her."
"I'm not sure. That's what I'm confused about."
"Well, talk to her. Figure it out. See if she likes you, too."
"Dude, have you seen the way she looks at you? If she likes any of us, it's you. Just like always."
"Hey, that's not true. All the sluts like Ashley," he said and then we both laughed. It was true. Ashley went for the sluts and the sluts went for Ashley.
"But seriously, nobody ever likes me. I'm always the one that people don't find attractive. Everyone else gets the girls, especially you and Ashley, but I don't ever. It kind of sucks," I said, although I didn't really mind it usually, except for this time, with Alaina.
"You just have to wait for the right one, Jinxx. Trust me, it'll happen. You'd rather have someone who likes you for you and not for your looks or fame, right? So just wait. You'll find someone. I promise," he said as he stood up and patted my knee reassuringly.
I just sighed and kept watching their show. Then it was our turn in a few minutes, so I got my guitar and headed to the stage. As I passed Alaina, she looked at me and smiled. Then she saw Andy, and he asked how it went, and she replied with a huge smile and a "The first show was great! I can't wait for the next one!" and I just sighed again and ran onto the stage, ready to play the first show of the tour.
