A Week Later

Thursday: Your Office, 10:30 pm, Jaehwan's POV:

- You dropped your pen on your desk and squeezed your eyes shut, rubbing your temples as you thought about all the work you still had to do tonight. Why did it have to be Jaebum's day off? Jackson was fine, you didn't mind him at all, but nobody could ever really replace Jaebum.

- You opened your eyes momentarily, looking at the picture of you and Jaebum that you kept on your desk. He looked so different, with his pudgy cheeks and scraggily hair, but his beautiful smile was exactly the same. You closed your eyes again and sighed.

- It had been a week since Sehun's little mind game with the letters, and despite your best efforts, whoever had knocked Jaebum out had seemed to vanish into thin air. It frustrated you beyond belief. You wanted to kill whoever had cut his beautiful face. And kill them slowly.

- Not that Jaebum seemed to mind though. He kept saying how much he liked his new scar, and that he thought it made him look tough. That stupid kid he was seeing, Youngjae or whatever his name is, also wasn't helping by constantly telling him how handsome he was.

- Jaebum was handsome, he had always been and would always be handsome, scars or no scars. But he needed to be angry about the fact that someone had knocked him out so easily instead of just ignoring it. The only thing he seemed to actually care about was Yoonsun.

- He treated the prince like he was his own kid! Every time you had to sit and watch him and Jin acting like a little family, being all sweet and playing with the baby like they didn't have a care in the world, it made you so jealous you thought your skin would burn off.

- But, you had chosen this stupid job, with the full understanding that you could never have a real relationship or children. Sometimes it made you realize just how much of an idiot you are.

- A knock came at your office door, and you called, "Come in," even though you weren't in the mood to speak to anyone.

- The door opened, and one of the people you wanted to speak too least strolled in, smirking at you before shutting the door and leaning against the wall.

- "What do you want? I'm busy," you asked, not bothering to hide your annoyance as you leaned back in your chair and crossed your arms.

- Ravi chuckled a little, and you tongued your cheek in irritation before he replied, "You look incredibly busy, sweetheart, that's why you had your eyes closed when I walked in, right?"

- You exhaled sharply and glared at him. Honestly, other than the fact that he was gorgeous, you had no clue why you were sleeping with him. He was so arrogant sometimes, it pissed you off.

- "I asked what you wanted," you said coldly, but he just chuckled again and looked you up and down. That just pissed you off more, so you added, "Knock it off, I have shit to do," before grabbing your pen and resuming your writing.

- "Aw, sweetheart, are you still mad at me for making fun of your boyfriend?" he asked. You weren't looking at him, but you could hear his grin in that amused tone he was using.

- In fact, you were still furious about that. The day after Jaebum had been knocked out, Ravi had laughed at him and called him 'helpless' and 'pathetic', two words which touched a nerve, because they had been some of Sehun's favorite ways to insult you.
