Seven Years Ago: Thursday, Your High School, 4 pm, Ravi's POV:

- Classes had ended for the day, and you were with some friends on the roof of your school, trying to unwind. You had a slightly weird best friend group, none of you really matched. All of you had been outsiders in the beginning of freshman year, so you had kind of just naturally ended up together.

- Although none of you were outsiders anymore, you never stopped hanging out together, despite how much all of your other friends disliked it. You were more in the athletic crowd, your friend Youngjae was with the tough kids, Minho was the genius nerd king, and your favorite, Jaehwan, was the most popular of all of you.

- Within a month of the start of your freshman year, Jaehwan had become the most well-liked guy in your grade. How could someone not like the cute, attention-hungry, theater-loving, orphan? His charm was almost irresistible, everyone listened when he spoke, and the eyes of both girls and boys followed him where ever he went. Nobody really cared about his quiet shadow, Jaebum, and you had never liked him.

- Youngjae was different. He was nearly as popular, but more because he was impressively intimidating. He had a 'coolness factor' that you had never been able to replicate. You were just nice-ish, but Youngjae was edgy. The only way you could describe him was the way he described himself. He was a 'Bad Boy, TM'.

- "Give me that," Youngjae said from his spot next to you, swiping the water bottle of vodka out of your hand and taking a sip. He, you, and Minho were sitting in the shade with your backs against an air conditioning unit.

- It was now your senior year, only three months until graduation, and you were so unbelievably over school. Everything was on auto pilot, none of it actually mattered anymore. You sighed, leaning your head back against the cool metal and enjoying the slight warmth in your stomach from the alcohol.

- You heard the roof door creak open, and you looked over to see Jaehwan with a huge grin of his face. He waved at you before quietly shutting the door.

- It would have been impossible for you to miss the changes in him. He used to be your workout partner and you actually called him 'trash can' because he would eat literally anything he was given. But he had lost a bunch of weight, and now just sat on the floor and cheered you on when he came with you to the gym.

- Jaehwan walked over to where the three of you were sitting and basically collapsed on Youngjae. After years of weird tension, the two of them had finally started going out around four months ago. You were less than pleased about that, but they were your best friends. So, you kept your mouth shut.

- "Hello there, cutie," Youngjae said, and you grabbed the bottle back from him, pointedly ignoring their make out session.

- "Wonshikie, share please," Jaehwan said in a slightly whiny voice a minute later, sitting up on Youngjae's lap and making grabby hands at you. He only acted this cute and used your real name when he wanted something, but you always did whatever he wanted no matter what he called you.

- You smiled, 'accidentally' letting the side of your hand brush his thigh as you handed him the water bottle. You couldn't help staring at his sharp jawline while he drank, and then laughed at his cute little cough.

- "Yah! Don't laugh at me!" he exclaimed, slapping the side of your neck. His voice always got higher pitched when he shouted, and your smile grew wider.

- Youngjae quickly put a hand over his mouth, and Jaehwan fell silent. You weren't actually allowed to be up on the roof, and if you got caught up here you would all be in huge trouble.
