Rose POV:
A bright light came through the window. I felt the warmth of the sun hitting my face. I flutter my eyes open. I got blinded by the bright sunlight rays. I slowly got up and rubbed my eyes.
I looked around. I recognize this room, it's Pattie's room. I looked at the clock. It is ten in the morning. My eyes went wide. My mom must be at home. I jumped off of the comfy bed, kneeled down, and grabbed my jeans. I unlocked my phone, I had eleven missed calls from her. My throat went dry. She must have called the police by now because I didn't call back at all.
I groan and ran my hand through my hair. I am going to be in so much trouble when I get home. I inhaled deeply through my nose. I smelled pancakes, eggs, bacon, and other mouthwatering foods. I got up and walked out of the room.
Justin was stirring something in the pan, his back facing me. All I could think about was our almost kiss. I felt my face warm up. I closed my eyes, seeing how close he was next to me, how close our lips were. I blushed even more at that thought.
"Are you okay Rose? Why are you just standing there?" I snapped out of my thoughts. I opened my eyes, half of Justin's body was towards me. His eyes looked a little worried.
"I'm fine!" I said louder than I met too.
"Okay." He smiled. But I knew he was a little hurt from my outburst. "Just making sure." Then he went back to cooking. I walked up to the kitchen.
"I'm sorry. I didn't shout like that."
"It's fine. You probably have a lot in your mind right now." Justin gave me another beautiful smile of his. From the tone in his voice. He was clearly upset, which made me feel more guilty. I decided to drop the conversation before I say something regrettable. "Do you need any help?" I asked, leaning against the fridge.
"Just take out the plates, forks, and cups." He said without looking at me. I nod and walked to the cupboards. I opened it and took out the plates. I set the cups and forks on the table and gave the two plates to Justin before I sat down on the chair.
Why isn't Justin talking with me? Was it something I did or said? Was it because we almost kissed yesterday? I opened my mouth to ask him why he isn't speaking with me.
As if he read my mind, he asked me, "How did you sleep?" He grabbed the pen and scooped up some scrambled eggs to our plates.
"Great. How about you?" Trying to keep the conversation going. He smiled.
"Good. Thanks for asking." I smiled, but his back was towards me. He put the pan in the sink and grabbed the other plates that were filled with food. My stomach growled loudly. I grabbed my fork and ate the eggs.
"Mmm..." I closed my eyes and slowly chewing it, savoring the flavor.
Justin sat down and laughs. "Like it?" I opened my eyes. He was looking at me, giving me a warming smile.
"I love it." I smiled back. I took a sip of coffee. The warm, dark fluid going down my dry throat.
"What do you want to do today?" Justin asked. I looked at his plate that was now empty. I opened my mouth, but I closed it. I have to go home. My mom will be having a panic attack right now.
I set down my fork." I need to go back home." Justin frowned. "Justin, I need to go back home. I don't want you to get in trouble because of me." Justin sighed.
"I understand." I could sense anger in his voice.
"Justin, please don't be mad." I pleaded.
"I'm not mad. I understand that you don't want to be near me." His voice raised.
