Chapter 9

It's Complicated

Henry led me down a walkway past the kitchen. It was long, decorated with old paintings. We reached a door, it was a faded green, the handle was the shape of a leave blowing in the wind.

" Where are we?" I asked. Henry only smiled and opened the door.

Once opened I saw a garden. Filled with green plants, trees and flowers of all different shapes and shades.

" This is beautiful!" I say as I walk through the gardai

" Follow me." Henry said. I took his hand and followed him. He led me to the middle of the garden. There was a blanket on the ground.

" A picknick really?" I asked, a silly smile on my face.

Henry nodded and helped me sit down. There were different types of snacks placed on the blanket. There were little sandwiches, strawberries and some soft drinks.

" You did all this?" I asked taking a sandwich.

" No. I had a little help. " Lex, she probably helped.

" So why did you bring me here?" I asked.

" Well, you are my mate and well, we haven't been on a date. I just wanted to spend some quality time with you. " He took my hand and placed a kiss on it. It was sweet and tender. I smiled and took my hand back.

" So, Kathy, tell me something interesting about yourself." He said sitting up, looking as excited as a kid in a candy store.

" Well, my real name is actually Katarina Davina Marshall. "

" Katarina? Why did you change it to Katherine?"

" Because the name went out of date and the name also reminded me to much of my mom."

" That's a nice name, Davina. Where did that come from?"

" My grandmother. My mom named me after her when she found out I had inherited her ability to control the elements and so on..."

He suddenly jumped up...

" YOUR GRANDMOTHER WAS DEVINA GARRISON????" I Laughed at him. He was cute when he was acting all crazy.

" Yes Henry. " I say with a chuckle and stand up. He came closer to me and pulled me into a hug.

" My mate is related to the most powerful witch of all times. " He had a goofy smile on his face. Then suddenly out of nowhere he brings his hand up to my five and pulls it up till we are inches apart. His heartbeat was steady, while mine was beating a million miles per minute. He came closer and our lips touched so softly. It was like flying, but better. My mind went blank and my hands instinctively went to his neck. He leaned in closer so the kiss was made deeper.

Then my mind snapped back to reality. My hands clasped around his neck and pushed him back against a tree. My eyes were most likely a pitch-black color because I felt stronger than I thought. Cami was in charge. Yea I know, vampires have red eyes. Mine don't that is because she's a hybrid just like my wolf.

" Kathy." Henry said trying to take away my hands from his neck.

" Katherine isn't here right now, leave a message and she'll get right back to you." My voice was as sweet as a siren.

" Wait what?" Henry said. His face turning a little shade of red.

" I am Camille, her vampire side. Katarina doesn't know I did this, but she will. " Cami said with a smile and let him go. Then ran off to our room at superspeed.

" Kathy open up the door. Please!" Henry yelled from the door. I had locked it when I came rushing in. He had run after me, wanting an explanation but I couldn't give him one. Cami had almost ruined the assignment.

" Fine then stay there, starve for all I care!" He yelled and stormed of.

Scotts POV

" Henry what is going on?" I ask as I see my brother coming from the top of the stairs. He looked mad and a red scar was on his throat.

" Katherine. " He said. His voice full of pain and anger.

" What did she do?"

He gave a menacing laugh.

" She did nothing. Apparently, she isn't just Katherine but also Camille, and her real name isn't actually Katherine it's Katarina Davina Marshall. " He threw his hands up and sat down on the couch with his hands in his hair.

" Henny, we knew she was complicated when we said yes to Vlad. But this, this whole thing that you're doing is unnecessary. You're overreacting and doing so will only make things worse. " Henny looked up. His eyes a dark gold. His wolf had come free. For as long as I knew Henry, he never lost control of his wolf, but now it seems like that chain had broken he jumped at me pinning me to the floor.

" You listen here Scott, I don't care what she says to you, or what you think. She stays in that room, no food or water. She is to left alone. Do you understand. " He said. His voice ruff and deep.

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND!!" He yelled in his alpha tone.

" Yes, I do." I speak. Then he climbed of me and ran out the front door.

" Douche. " I say before running up the stairs to Kathy's room. When I reached it, I knocked softly? When I didn't hear an answer, I said.

" Kathy. It's me, it's Scott. " Then the door went open and I saw her. She was a reck. Her eye liner had run, she was wearing a tracksuit too big for her and had a bottle of what looked like vodka or something in her hands.

" Kathy..."

" Hey Scott. Look I'm...so.so.sorry. But... I don't think... Minster Alpha would like it... If... If... He saw you here." She spoke. Between slurs and hiccups. Then she fell forward.

I took her to her bed and saw that the room was filled with the same bottles she had in her hand.

" Ooo Kathy. What happened." I ask as I place her on the bed.

" Henry... Kissed me... Or at least tried... But I strangled his... Before... Before... He c...old do anything else..." Then she giggled, the sprung up and ran to the bathroom. I went in after her and held back her long brown hair.

" How much did you have?" I asked. Suddenly smelling the order of wolfsbane.

" Kathy, you didn't?" I left her in the bathroom leaning on the tub then took one of the bottles and smelled it.

" You did!!" I yelled going back to her. She was asleep, or in a coma. I picked her up and ran downstairs with her in my arms.

" Lex. I need your help. Get the car, bring it to the front." I say threw our bond. When I got to the door, the car was waiting for me with Lex standing on the outside.

" Scott??" She asked. But as soon as she saw Kathy she ran and opened the door.

" What happened?" I just shook my head.

" Who did this? She has wolfsbane in her blood. I can feel it. We have to get her to Doc Smith, or her wolf could die." She spoke.

" Okay I'll drive. See if you can get Henry on the phone and tell him where we're taking her. It might not end well if he goes to her room and see she's gone. " She nodded and tried calling him. After the 5th time he picked up

" Henry. We're taking Kathy to the doc. Something... Yes, me and Scott.... No, we... Henry... No no no.... Henry listens please just come to the hospital!" And then she hung up the phone. I saw her and Kathy in the rear-view mirror. She looked pale, her body slack, her chest slowly rising and falling.

The hospital was in view.

" Hold on Kathy." I say and hoped she'd be fine
