The Journey
After 5 years I finally got to terms with the fact that I was no longer a mortal. It was hard but Dimitri was there every step of the way, helping me through it all.
We became the best of friends and did everything together. We trained together and there we found our rhythm. We were so in sync with each other, like two sides of a blade. That's when Eli tasked us with the worriers. We became the most feared in the Vampire nation, killing whom ever wanted to stand up against King Luthor. Any treats made against the throne. We became known as the Duke and Duchess of Death, because Eli was formally known as lord Luthor before he became king after his brother died and we took over his estate. We lived there outside of the castle. Eli was very understanding, giving us all the freedom, we wanted in exchange for loyalty, being there whenever he called for us to do his bidding.
Dimitri became very close then, but not like close close, we were like best friends, telling each other everything. But I always knew he wanted more, but I didn't, I wasn't ready for anything like that. So, I never gave him the satisfaction of that thought. So, we lived for over 20 years.
I was only 22 when I was turned
Anyway, so now I'm stuck looking like a 22-year-old for eternity, and from now on that's all I'll ever know. It scared me, that I'd never know how it felt to grow old. Because time is what made life worth living, time made everything matter.
Dimitri was 23, for over 200 years. He on the other hand loved being immortal.
Years came and went and I still hadn't found a place I wanted to stay. We were always moving around, going to every vampire colony, seeing that they obey orders.
Italy...
France...
Rome...
New York...
Beijing...
China...
Taiwan...
And nowhere did I feel at home. Not even back at the manor. But at least I had Dimitri....
" Kathyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy."
My thoughts were interrupted by an annoying, screening sound. It was Dimitri
" Yes D. What do you want?" I asked annoyed. I was so comfy in my own thoughts, that when I get ripped out of them, I get cranky.
" Just wanted to see if you were okay. You didn't answer my question."
He was sitting on a stool overlooking the garden of the estate. I was sitting next to him, staring into the blue abyss of the universe.
" What question D?"
" I asked if we are going to the manner? He did summon us to his formal dinner tomorrow night."
I looked at him, for the last 100 years he hadn't changed, his black hair was still in its usual slicked back state, his black eyes sparkling in the sunlight. His skin looking gold from the suns rays.
" Why do you want go? Eli havent asked for us in over 317 years, and now suddenly he gives us an order to go to this stupid party of his? I smell a rat."
I looked down at my hands dancing in the sunlight, my ring with small blue stones all around looked beautiful.
Those were the reasons we could go into the sunlight without getting burned. They're called moon stones, created by witches, spelled to make our skins tolerable to sunlight, it is called a moon stone because it is blue like the moon when it is full. Very helpful when you want to look normal in this world.
