Chapter 11

The Duke and His Duchess

A week in the hospital I was finally released. Katarina and Ru was still in a coma, but our body had already healed, so the doc said we could leave. Alexa had come to pick me up.

When we reached the house Henry was waiting for us at the front door.

" Hey Lex. Welcome home Kathy." He said and pulled me into a hug. I stiffened. I never really liked hugs, unless they came from him. He noticed and stood back. He saw my eyes and his was filled with pain

" Camille. How are they?" He asked. I gave him a smile.

" They are fine. Katarina is almost gained conciseness. But Ru is still under. The wolfsbane had hit her harder than we thought. " I say. Henry nodded and I walked past him to my room once there, I noticed that it was cleaned up then I fell on the bed.

My phone buzzed and I took a look at it for the first time since the pool accident.

2 missed calls from Eli.

30 messages from Zed.

1 message from unknown.

Meet me at midnight under the stary night. Where the sky meets the land, at the spot where the sky can be seen in the reflection of the world.

Who could've sent that? I asked. Knowing there would be no real answer.

"Could it be him?" Gemma asked.

" No. He's gone." I simply said.

I rolled over in my bed and checked on the clock. The time was 20:50.

" Should I dare to go?"

"Yes." Rang the answer threw my head.

True, I hoped dearly it was him, but what if it was not. He did leave with nothing but a note left for me...

After a long debate I decided to go. When the clock struck 23:40 I jumped out my window, landing softly on the ground, and started walking. I knew exactly where this place was. It was past the woods, behind an old stone cave.

The water was calm. The reflection on the water mirrored that of the sky, looked like two heavens...

A branch broke behind me, I spun around and saw a figure emerge from behind a tree

" You came." It spoke. That voice. I haven't heard in over 20 years, but knew it very well.

" Dimitri." I say, a tear escaping my eye. I know, not very strong for a vampire, but what can I say?

" You grow even more beautiful with every passing moon. " His face was visible now. His dark eyes reflected the moon, his hair was messy like always. His suit excellently tailored.

" Your father..." He came up to me with super speed.

" I know. But it's true. " He said. Placing a gentle hand on my cheek.

" No!" I yelled stepping back. I didn't want to believe it was him because if it was, then, then everything would go up in flames.

" You left me! You left me with him, you abandoned me! Me!!!" I took another step back.

" I know. I regretted that decision every day, since I left. But you have to believe me. I had to leave, Eli said..." He turned to face the lake; his expression full of hate.

" I don't care what he did or said!" I yelled. All my pinned-up anger and hurt seeping through the wall I built around it.

" He made me go. He said if I didn't, he would... So, I left." He then turned back to me.

" Without saying anything?" I was crying like a child at that moment. Feeling so vulnerable.

" I wanted to. That's why I left the note. I would have come sooner, but Eli always had someone spy on you so I could not get near you. Until now. " Then he engulfed me in a hug. The type you don't want to end. The hug I wanted since he left.

" I searched for you." I say threw sobs.

" I know. I followed you everywhere you went. Protected you as far as I could. When I found out he sent you here, I could not leave you alone anymore. " He pulled back, and wiped away the tears that had fallen.

" Tell me something. Why did he send you away?" I asked. He sighed.

" For training as he put it. But in reality, it was to keep me away from... You..."

"Why me?"

" Because, you were and always shall be my first priority, not the kingdom or my father." He said it with such passion. His eyes held all his emotions.

" Why did you leave then?" I pulled away from him.

" To save you!" He yelled. His eyes slowly going from black to red.

" Save me from what Dimitri?"

" From my father. He said that he would kill you if I did not co-operate."

" He said that?" Then fresh tears started running. He came closer again and wiped them away. I really felt like a child at that point.

" I won't let him hurt you." He simply said and gave me another hug, which I returned.

" You will and forever be my Duchess."

Henrys POV

"What the hell?" Aces voice rang threw my head. We just saw Camille jump from her window.

We followed her; she went to a small lake. I wasn't really close but saw her. Even with my super hearing I couldn't hear them, probably spelled.

Then I saw a man come from behind a tree. He looked like the sort you warn your kids to stay away from. He had dark hair as far as I could tell, his suit looked way too expensive for a midnight stole type of thing.

Then out of nowhere Camille started to yell at him. Still feels weird calling her that...

Then they hugged, and bit more fighting than she let him hug her. His hands were at the small of her back. Then I snapped. I ran to her and ripped him away. My eyes were gold, Ace was in control.

" What the hell?" She yelled. I had pinned the dude to a tree, his eyes were a dark red.

"Vampire"

"Let him go Henry!" She yelled again. Her voice sounding a mile away.

Then she came in between us. She pushed me away with such force.

" What is going on here?" I asked. My voice mixed with my wolf's.

" Calm down Henry." She simply said examining the vampire.

" Who is he?" The vampire asked. She just sighed.

" This is Henry. Henry, Dimitri. "

I knew that name.

" So, this is Dimitri?" I asked. My voice probably filled with hurt.

" How does he know me?" Dimitri asked. I gave a halfhearted laugh.

" Every time she wakes up, she says your name." I say with disgust. She looked at me. The type of look that'll make you want to crawl in a grave and die

" Guys it's been a long day, could we maybe go to your office and talk there? It's starting to get cold and I'm positively famished." She said and helped Dimitri up. I nodded and led them to my office.

"This is a bad idea" said Ace finally back in his corner.
