"What was that?" I looked at the stage where the shadow has just passed. Adam left my hands and started walking towards the stage.
"I don't know. Just stay here." He started approaching the stage. Well obviously I didn't listen and followed.
"Didn't I tell you to stay there?!" He whispered, looking at me with semi-angry eyes.
"I am not your 'Lady Watson' to follow orders." I fired back in a squeaky voice making and a really silly expression more than I intended it to be that crept a smile at the corner of his mouth.
"Oh yeah?" with his eyebrow raised. I rolled my eyes. "Fine, just don't leave my side." For that I nodded. We started walking until we reached the backstage and nothing, as if we actually just imagined it.

"Maybe we just missaw it?" Adam suggested as if he read my mind. Then his eyes fell into my hand wrapped around his arm as a koala. "Okay, I think I should have said 'Don't leave my arm' for that matter." I looked at him for a second, left his arm, straightened my posture.
"I am not scared." I said in a low voice, that I hardly can hear.
"Yeah, right." He walked back to the stage. I ran following him.
"I wasn't! Really!" I shouted back as I am trying to catch up with him. He kept walking until he reached the stage and jumped to the floor. I followed up and jumped after him. He was looking at me, waiting for a confession. I sighed and rested my case.

"Okay, look. I am scared-" His face's expression started to change as well in realisation. "terrified even!" Throwing my arm in the air. "Imagine if anyone knew this, us. Did you see how we jumped when we just saw a shadow. Imagine if it was your fiancee. Or worse, paparazzi. Our reputation, careers, families, our lives will be over." His expression went somewhere between angry and sad. "Look, I like you. A lot. That I might have even crossed that stage-"His face lightened a bit, I was silently happy at the gesture. "But-" I sighed again for the unexplained, complicated situation it is. He crossed the space between us, holding my hands for comfort.
"We will make this work. I will." He looked deeply in my eyes that I almost believed, but trusting people, loving them so much was always the reason for losing myself in the middle. I fixed my cute-puppy face expression to the welcome-to-the-real-wold expression, took my hands from his and crossed them over my chest. "How?" He sighed again and threw his hands in the air too. Same frustration, I guess, or stealing my moves.

"I don't know, but I know one thing." He was looking more serious now, meaning what he was saying. "I know that whatever we do, we can't stop this." pointing at the air between us. Again I gave up to make him see my point.
"It's getting late. we better get going." I started walking towards the exit when he stood in front of me. "Believe me, I will fix it." He said sincerely. I stood there for a second silently. I wanted to believe him so badly but could I? It was all complicated. Way complicated. If I agreed to this we will be happy, but Danny and his dream fashion show was less than a month away? Jessica with her wedding around the corner? And off course our families? If such a thing was to be known, all of this will be ruined. I might lose the trust of these people. I might lose my best friends and only friends. With the thoughts like a storm in my mind. I closed my eyes for a second trying to calm the temper in my mind.

"Adam" I started and oh my dear god, the look on his face would make say yes and go to the world screaming myself, I shook my head at the thought. "If I agreed now, here, to this. It might cost us both a lot. Therefore, I suggest we leave it till after the shows and the wedding. Okay?"
"No.No." He started shaking his head "after a month things would be much more difficult, Mandy. Don't you think? Besides, Can you? Can you wait?" I took his hand in mine and dragged him after me.
"Come on. Let me show you something." We started walking hand in hand till we reached my car, he took the passenger seat and I took the driver's one. I put the key in the engine and started the way.

"Where are we?" He asked as we stepped out of the car. I stepped next to him leaning on my car.
"This is my aunt's home." It's nearly 8 in the evening. The windows to their home still had lights with all of them on the dinning table, eating, laughing as the father was hearing his son's day and the girl was making fun of her brother. The mother was putting more food into her family's plate. The family picture that I could have if my mum didn't do that one mistake.
