"Good evening, Locus!" I greeted the guard at the lobby of my apartment as I reached home to change for Jessica and Martin's rehearsal dinner.
"Good evening, miss." I walked passed him but he called me back. "Someone has been waiting for you." I glanced at the chair by the windows of the lobby and I thought I was hallucinating. It was my mother looking out of the window. I approached her with step by step, slowly.

"Mum?" I called her and she looked up.
"Hello, sweetheart." She was smiling at me. I sat on the seat opposite to her.
"What are you doing here? Is everything okay?" I was kind of worried to be honest. Non of my family has visited me here before. They didn't even ask where did I live. So her finding my address and coming meant something big. As I was looking at her eyes, she looked at my hand. To be precise at my engagement ring.
"It's so sweet." She commented. I looked at my ring as well and nodded along. "You know." I looked up and her reaction was soft, like my mother, the one I had years ago. "When you left that evening I thought you will just give up, I prayed that night that you won't." I was shocked by her words, but hers were sincere. "I prayed that you will follow your heart, you deserve a happy life, Mandy. Be happy and celebrate it everyday." She took my hand in hers. "Years ago I followed my heart but I had to lose my family. However, I am not letting that happen to you. Your mother is happy for you and will always be there, no matter what others say. As long as you are happy." My eyes were so watery from happiness. I missed her, I missed this mum.
"Oh. Mum." I stood up and hugged her so hard, as if she was in another part of the world and just came back.
"I am sure Edward would be so happy for you too." She sobbed at those words and it was a family reunion at the lobby that I think Locus gave up on his show and was watching us.

The door of the building opened and I heard Adam's voice greeting Locus as well. I looked up and I think Locus pointed for him at us. He was smiling.
"Come over here." My mum called him and he did.
"Mrs. Dylan." He greeted her.
"You can call me Emilia." She was giggling at his shocked reaction. He looked at me and I shrugged.
"Okay, Emilia." He managed to say and my mother smiled. My phone rang and it was a text from Jessica threatening me that I will be dead if I am late. That was when I looked at the clock and found out that Jessica might be actually a murder before a bride. I excused myself in a hurry to get changed.

When I came back downstairs I found Adam and my mother still talking and laughing by the window. That view warmed my heart that I didn't dare to disturb it, but the image of Jessica hitting me made me do it. I hurried to them and Adam stood up, shook hands with mum, I hugged her then we stood hand in hand before her. Her eyes fell on our hands and her eyes went sparkling and smiling. We drove mum to her car, then we headed to Adam's car to get going.

"I was so close to calling the police! Where were you?!" Jessica was kind of scolding me in a low voice and pinching my hand.
"Ouch! Ouch! That hurts!" She let go of my hand and it was all red. "Later, good things are happening!" I winked at her and went over to her family to say hi. I could see Danny talking to her about me. The rest of the evening was such a magical night. Everything was perfect and the food was so delicious. Danny kept crying at every time any bride made or best man wishing the bride and the groom that he couldn't even do it himself. Truth to be told, I couldn't believe it either. Jessica was going to be Mrs. Lewis in less than 24 hours.

"What do you think this star is called?" I pointed at a bright star in the sky.
"No idea." Adam took a sip of his glass of wine. Adam dropped me off at home but instead of leaving we ended up sipping wine at the balcony.
"Hey! You are no fun! Just guess!" I yelled at him and I think I was half drunk already. He laughed at my expression.
"Okay. Umm. Mandy?" He flirted and I giggled.
"Good one! Really!" I clapped at his line and on second thought, I was really drunk. I kept moving and clapping until the glass in my hand was in the air. Nope, in his hand.
"That's enough wine for you. Bedtime." He put both glasses on the table and tried to carry me inside.
"Nooo! I don't want to sleep. Let's stay a little more. Pleaaaase!" I resisted, but useless. I was already in his arms.
