''What a morning to not wake up to!'' I stretched as I am on my way to the bathroom. It's dinner with my family tonight and If I knew my parents at all, they are planning something and I can smell it. The last time I had invitation of the same type, it was my parents' anniversary. They've invited a lot of people and it turned out that my father got me a job offer at his friend's company. It was just after I graduate and decided to have a start up with Danny. They wanted me to get a job just like I want until I find my other half. Off course, They didn't tell me that at the time of it, but I just knew after that visit where we had the fight. That's when I decided to leave the city and start my own life away.
I got out of the shower when I heard my phone ringing. It's Danny. I picked up.
''Morning sunshine!'' Danny said on the other side of the line.
''Good morning Danny, early today?'' I said smiling.
''Well, I wanted you to started your day with my magical voice. You know. Making you a favour.'' I laughed.
''Ha! Make Mandy smile, Check!'' I can her him giggling too. ''So! Now seriously, look if you don't want to go for the location, it's fine I can handle it. you know, have some rest? Listen to your weird music, relax and get ready for your dinner?''
Smiling. ''No, Danny. I need to get my mind off it. It's an attractive offer though. Thanks, but I am going to be there on time.''
''Anytime, princess. See you later then!''
'' See you!''I hung up the phone, threw it on bed and then me following it falling onto the bed hardly. ''I hope everything just goes well''. I closed my eyes and prayed. "Back to reality!" I jumped off bed and picked the phone to call Emily.
''Hello, Emily. Good morning.'' I said.
''Good morning Miss. Dylan.'' she replied.
''Emily, look. Go to the photography location without me I might be a little late. Take the files with you. You will find them on my desk. If anything happened, call me. Okay?'' I asked.
''Sure, Miss Dylan. Anything else?''
''No thank you Hun. Maybe send me my scheduled for today too and block anything else from 5 p.m. today because I won't be available. ''
''Got it!''
''Great! See you later!''
''Sure thing, Miss. Dylan.''I hang up the phone and changed to my sports clothes, picked my iPod and went running. It's summer, but still early in the morning for the weekend. I can here voices of family breakfast and rock music from the Andrew's next door. As I keep walking through the hallway to the elevator, I can hear classic music from Mr. Roger's door. He is a kind old man. A little weird though but I think that's because of his loneliness. His wife died around 4 years ago, nearly since I came to this building and his children are both married and living somewhere else. I come from time to time to check up on him though as he comes for wishing Merry Christmas or happy birthday and someday he came to congratulate me for my company in wining in the national fashion competition. He is leaving the apartment now but the music is still playing.
''Good morning Mr. Rogers!'' I greeted him.
''Oh! Mandy darling, Good morning!'' He replied back ''how are you?''
''Good, Mr. Rogers. You?''
''Great! My daughter is coming today with her children so I am going to get some things from the super market!'' He said happily.
''Oh! That's awesome news! I wish you a joyful day today with them!''I beamed.
''Thank you! You too!'' He said smiling.
Right! I hope me too, Mr. Rogers. It seems it's not only me who is reuniting with her family today after all. The only difference that Mr. Rogers can't wait to meet his, and I want my phone to ring right now with my father apologising for tonight.
''I have to go now. Have a nice day!'' I waved, taking the next turn to the elevator.
''Good morning, Mark!' I greeted on my out the guard.
''Good morning, Miss Dylan!'' He said back. One of the few things that can change my mood 180 degree is the fresh air of the morning. That morning breeze that if you didn't wake up early enough, you won't find it till the end of the day. I started jogging. The shops are still mostly closed or getting ready to start the day. Manhattan can be so gorgeous and quite in the morning. Just a couple of hours and it's going to be buzzing with people from everywhere. I looked at the clock. Oh my! I am going to be so late for the collection's photography shooting session. I ran back to the building, rushed to my apartment, then to the bathroom. I had a shower and got dressed, checked my phone. Emily sent the schedule. I grabbed it and put it in the bag and took the keys and rushed to the car. Unlike other people in the fashion sector, I believe that beauty exist in the simplicity and easiness. Off course, That's not how Danny thinks. Therefore, Our collection's principle is luxury but in it's simplest ways. So for some reason we are having the location at a stage, a luxurious one off course, Danny's favourite, but with the simple concepts of dresses and suits. It's some kind of weird, different and beautiful. A risky one, but success can't be without risks. My phone rang, it's Emily. Something happened. Gosh, the traffic is killing me!
''What's the crises Emily? How bad it it?'' I asked as soon as I answered.
''So bad, Miss. Dylan. There is another company who says that they rented that place too. It's in the fashion sector as well, but in shoes.'' She tried to explain while I hear shouting at the background.
''I am around the corner. Tell everyone to calm down and ask the responsible person from the other company to wait, so we can discuss it. Get the papers that shows that we rented that place and who arranged it and off course Mr. Walker. Oh and most importantly the models and the crew Emily. Don't let them get annoyed or leave, we will finish that session today, we don't have time. Am I clear, Emily? ''
''Crystal, Miss. I'll take care of it.''
