Chapter 2
A thick blanket of dark clouds covered the sky. Rain fell heavily soaking the burned remains of the forest and dojo, ashes were spread across the ground in the village and at that moment everything was lifeless. I sat up against a rocky wall. How did I survive? I could've sworn I got killed. My life didn't matter now, my friends, my masters, everything of mine burned down with the school. I saw all of my masters still there, still alive, still breathing, so I dragged them up to the wall, got some water for them, and collected food. I couldn't find Kenkai though, I knew he was dead but I couldn't find him. A cold wind blew gently shifting the ashes, creating ripples in the water, and my body felt cold because even though most of the blood stained on my clothes are dry, my body still bled. I leaned against a tree parallel to the cliff so I was facing my masters. I tore a huge piece of cloth off of my clothes and wrapped them around the serious wounds. I slowly dozed off as the sun started to shine once more, but I think it was the warmth of the sun mixed with the cool air that caused my slumber. I woke up and felt better, I got up and observed seeing what was left of the school. Some dorms were untouched and probably because the rain kicked in before they got to them. I walked over to the master division where none of the dorms were touched, including Kenkai's. As I push the door open, I hear the creak of the wood slowly open, and the dust became visible in the light. I look around for supplies, but somehow I manage to stumble upon a hand scanner of some kind. I wanted to place my hand on it but I was hesitant, unknown to what it might do. At last, I decide to put my hand on the scanner, the anxiety made me want to pull away but I didn't want to. The light turned from red to a green and a drawer in the desk suddenly opened without warning. I slowly walk over to the drawer and look in it. A necklace with a weird design on it was placed carefully on top of a folder. I took the necklace off and looked in the folder. There many pictures of me with the same man in the picture back at the farm. Who is this man? Why does Kenkai have pictures of me and him? I had too many questions. I put the necklace on, feeling its cold touch on my neck. I then hid the folder under my shirt and ran back to the rock wall. I look at the provisions I collected, hoping it would be enough for them.
"Hey, hey guys, come on, wake up," I whispered. I sprayed a little water on them so they would wake up.
"Hm, wait what?" Krono asked, waking up. Soon everyone started waking up, I told them what happened and asked if they would help.
"Hm, there are a couple questions before I answer yours, if he took all the students why didn't he take you?"
"Well, he kind of thinks I'm dead," I answer slowly
"Why?"
"Because he stabbed me in the heart"
"So how am I talking to you?"
"I don't know, I don't remember much of what happened that night. I do remember that he killed Kenkai. I should've saved him but I couldn't!" I say pounding my fist against the ground.
"They killed him?" Krono asked in shock
"Yes," I answer shamefully
"Then you have to go, find a new master and take the man who attacked our village down"
"What about you and the others?"
"We'll stay and rebuild the school, we'll also send out a search group to find the students"
"How will I know where to go?"
"You'll find your way"
"Alright, I guess I'll go. Thanks guys for helping me get closer to my goals, and I promise that the next time you see me I will be a hero. Though, if I leave, promise me I'll get to see all of you again, still safe"
