Chapter 5:
Whenever I'm here, in this beautiful place that was meant for Koredons like me, a new adventure seems to guide me towards allies and closer to my father. I lie against the warm trunk of the cherry blossom with my eyes closed feeling the sun's warmth hitting against me. This is the only time I relaxed without having to think about my destiny, but no matter when or where I can never stop thinking about my dad. Though, I did come here for help, some guidance on my next move. I lie against the cherry blossom tree for a while till I finally hear a voice and feel the wind blowing against me.
"Hello?" A voice said. The voice was very faint at first, but as it repeated slowly, it got clearer.
"Hello?" It asked once more.
"Gwen, stop it he's gone," another voice said in the background. I sit up with my eyes just about to open, but I smack my head on something hard and fall back.
"Ow!" I say rubbing my head. When my eyes come into focus, I see this cat-like human animal in front of me rubbing her head.
"Ouch!" she said looking up toward me
"I'm sorry, I didn't-" I said
"Are you alright Gwen?" A wolf-like man said running over to care for Gwen.
"I'm fine, but see? I told you he wasn't dead," she said
"Dead? Where am I, who are you, or more so what are you?"
"What do you mean?" The guy snapped
"Well, your not- I've just never seen anything like you before," I said
"We're anthropomorphic! He must have amnesia, maybe the humans did experiment on him," she said
"I don't remember being experimented at all, but I guess I've got a little amnesia. Could you tell me where I am?"
"You're in the town of Vyathā"
"Vyathā? (Hindi for Agony), why is this town called Vyathā?"
"Are you sure you're alright? If don't remember, pain runs through everything since the humans invaded our dimension. All they've done was slaughter our kind little by little to take over our land"
"So that's why you thought I was dead?"
"Not many anthropomorphics have the guts to lay against a dead tree in the open and take a nap. We thought the humans killed you."
"Ok, so when did the humans take over?"
"Long ago they invaded our village when we were just kids. Our parents died at the hands of the military general. Ever since then, we've been standing on a needle".
"Standing on a needle?" I asked
"Yeah. We have to be extremely cautious around humans and thus the expression 'standing on a needle'. All of us are like standing on a needle, if we so much as twitch, we fall, and die," Gwen explained.
I stood up and tried to swallow. To think, I've spent most of my time trying to find my father while a race was being massacred by another. How can a race do something so horrible to another race like that? I thought to myself.
"Everything alright?" Gwen asked
"Yeah, I'm fine. So the humans finally found the way to pass through different dimensions unharmed. Do you know why they chose this dimension? Or was it the closest? Or did they just like stumble upon it?" I asked
"Our dimension was the closest. This dimension is on the other side of the Earth barrier. However, we still don't know why they act the way they do. Some believe that they require dominance over another race, but some believe they're good and their being forced by another power," Gwen replied
